Looks more like mix-and-mismatch. If the comments are based on their pick - he is calling the performance of that diesel as lack-lustre ?

Tata Nexon September numbers = 2772. Not bad considering it is launched on 20/21st of the month.
I think most of these are display and test drive cars, and some customer deliveries.

This is good considering it was launched later in the month.

The numbers are factory dispatches and will include dealership and test drive cars. Too early to predict with these numbers.

Lots of people talk about reliability, petrol engines, quality, aging etc. about the Tata cars. I know they were not great. But recent cars have changed, and changed drastically. Just sat in my cousins Tata Zest, which is 3+ year old now and run more than 40k+ on the odo. It was in very good shape and no aging at all seen on the car. Engine is super smooth and no major issues reported so far. Apart from regular maintenance, there is nothing to be done. Quality of interiors is also very good and pretty much in shape. Mainly no rattling in the car till now.

I am sure Nexon will be a step further in all areas. Tata is definitely improving and doing better and better. Just need to improve their A.S.S. and they can do much better.

What's more interesting to note in this pic - notice the partly-camouflaged Safari Storme in the lead with red TC plates? A facelift in the offing, or a future AT variant?

I think it is the army spec Safari. Link (Indian Army's new official vehicle - the Tata Safari Storme!)

Besides the manual, ConnectNext Touchscreen Infotainment by Harman gets a separate - big, fat book. Goes to show how important this system is in the whole scheme of things.

"All cars from Tata are making losses"....

This means prices of all cars in demand from Tata including Nexon will go up gradually, just like Tiago. While many people will wait for one year to watch the car's niggled getting resolved and then buy, prices may also go up.

From his statement, it seems more like that the induvidual product margins are positive, but because of their current cost structure and volumes, net margins are negative, hence his focus on achieving volumes. In my opinion, he should have a good look at the cost structure also. The VRS scheme is a good start, but i think more could be trimmed - I am sure he has plenty of experience doing it at his last company

Mods, sorry to repeat this again many times. Just trying to get an idea. When can we expect the team-bhp review of Nexon? Has it been cooked and not served yet or not yet cooked? We all are badly waiting for it. (On a side note, I am in waiting period of my Nexon). Closed the deal of my Swift vdi (ABS) yesterday. Just waiting for my new one to arrive.

Sorry, it's not entirely clear from your post. Did you close the deal as in decided to buy the Swift? Or you cancelled the booking of the Swift?

His signature shows that he has a 2010 Swift VDi (ABS). He closed the deal for selling this and getting a Nexon.

I'm sure that people wouldn't mind the extra few bucks for such a good car. The Nexon does tick all the boxes when it comes to the features, the kit and the looks part (albeit the inconsistent finish and panel gaps might be a sore point). And with the initial niggles sorted, an owner can fully derive a wholesome experience and vfm from the Nexon.

Speaking of niggles, have any of the early owners of the car reported any issues that have arised during the initial ownership? Curious to know as I'm planning to buy this car, post a few financial calculations and consultations.
