Ex-showroom price doesn't include road tax.

How can that be. GST has an anti profiteering clause so difference in price before and after GST should be exactly the difference between the tax % change.

Looks like BMW, Merc and Audi are being quite stingy in comparison
Your observations are correct, what I can make out is companies like BMW & Audi have a trading arm setup between Factory and Dealers so the factory was billing at much lower rates say cost plus little margins to the trading unit which in turn was invoicing cars to Dealers keeping larger margins. Due to this setup, they were able to keep duties to the minimum. Now it won't possible to save on duties as Government will get GST all the way till end customer price. Accordingly, these companies have passed less than say a company like Toyota or Maruti which bills directly from the factory to dealers.

It seems Maruti has reduced the prices by just 1000 - 2000 on Alto, WagonR, Celerio, Swift and DZire !!

Don't know about Mumbai, in Chennai the price for DZire has gone down by ₹12,000. Maruti's post GST prices are very weird. Baleno is cheaper in Mumbai by almost ₹12,000 than Chennai, but the DZire is actually costlier in Mumbai by ₹1,000 than Chennai. Not sure how these prices were arrived at. This makes me wonder, what are the components of an ex showroom price in the GST era?

I was checking Ex Delhi prices and even on Brezza, Baleno the price drop is about 1- 2k, Ciaz diesel and Ertiga diesel prices have gone up for obvious reasons.

Comparatively Toyota seems to have passed on more benefit, Etios range price drop is about 20 - 40k, Innova about 90k - 1.40 lac, Fortuner about 2.25 - 2.40 lacs.

Need some clarity on GST on spare parts if someone is aware of it.
I'll had given my Swift for a clutch replacement and strut replacement which will be delivered today.
The service is done at Mandovi motors. The SA informed me the new tax on labor is 18% and on parts is 24% due to which the bill has been bumped up quite a bit.
Are these the right figures?

Labor is @ 18% (Previously Service Tax which was @ 15%)

For parts, not heard of any tax slab @ 24%. Should be 12% but I am not sure. Looks like they have added 12% SGST and 12% CGST, instead of dividing 12% by 2.

I gave my Safari for Service at Concorde Pune today. The new tax slabs that I have been told are
Spare Parts -28 % instead of around 12% earlier.
Labour - 18% instead of 15 % earlier.

Yes but MRP includes all taxes so unless there is any change in MRP you don't need to give any higher prices. 28 % should not bring ay change in MRP Either as earlier Excise used to be 12 % plus 2 % CST from Manufacturer to Dealer + 12-15 % VAT to end customer.

In Mumbai post GST
Honda Jazz V CVT now cheaper by 50k
Honda BRV V CVT now cheaper by 1 lac
Honda City VX CVT now cheaper by 76k
Honda City ZX CVT now cheaper by 81k

I still feel Honda has not passed entire benefit to consumers because unlike Maruti where we are seeing 5k to 10k difference between Delhi and Mumbai price, for Honda the difference is 20k
