Hello,

I was going through the July issue of Auto Car and the cover page read: 24 New Diesels in the coming 24 months in India. So I thought I did share it here. The cars which are going to be launched are:

1. Fiat Grande Punto 1.3 Multijet( Engine Specs: 1248cc, power:75BHP, Price R5-7 Lakh)

2. Maruti Suzuki Swift 1.3 DDiS( Engine: 1248cc, Power:69.3bhp, Price: Rs6.4Lakh)

3. New Santro 1.1 CrDi( Engine: 1120cc, power: 75bhp, price Rs.4.7 Lakh)

4. Hyundai Getz 1.5 CRDi(1493cc, 87bhp, Rs. 6.4Lakh)

5. Hyundai Accent/Verna 1.5 CRDi(1493cc, 110bhp, Rs 6.5 Lakh)

6. Hyundai Sonata Embera 2.0 CRDi(1991cc, 140bhp, Rs.17Lakh)

7. Renault/Mahindra Logan 1.5 dCi(1461cc, 70bhp, Rs.5.8-7.5Lakh)

8. Mahindra Scorpio 2.2 Crde(2.2Ltr, 130-140bhp, Rs. 7.8-9.1 Lakh)

9. Toyota corolla D-4D(1995cc, 116bhp, Rs. 14 Lakh)

10. New Tata Indica 1.3 Multijet(1248cc, 69.3bhp, Rs 3.5-4.3 lakh)

11. Tata Indigo/Marina DiCOr 1.4(1405cc, 70-90bhp, Rs. 5.5-6.5Lakh)

12. Tata Safari DiCOR2.2( 2.2 Ltr, 140 Bhp, Rs. 14lakh)

13. Chevrolet Aveo 1.3 MultiJet( 1248cc, 69.3bhp, Rs. 8.5 lakh)

But prices are rediculous, from where did they get that or just for sake of putting it they have put some junk.

I agree the Getz should be around 5Lacs and the Vera at around 7Lacs

Really hoping Verna is at 7lakhs and I doubt anyone will ever buy a Santro at that high a price :(

The current Accent diesel cost ~7.8L onroad. The Verna I'm sure would cost atleast that much. The Skoda Fabia to cost less than the Swift/Getz? And the Fusion TDCi at 9L ? hahaha.

Prices are not officially out yet.. FUSION to cost 9 LAC what are they giving. Alluminium diesel engine or gold diesel engine.. It should not cost more than 7 lacs taking into consideration the current market of fusion..
