himanshu, I think you are asking for a real big bang for your buck. If at all MUL prices the M800 that low, I guess it will be a bare-bones version - no A/c etc.

Current price of M800 AC in delhi is 2.1 - so a 60 K disc would come to 1.5! Therein lies teh source of my optimism

Default bang

well, what I see going forward is... both these small cars moving to electric. Their first release may be fossil fuels, but the real long term benifit to all will come from electric cars.. may be 2015 should be a good date when 800/tata's new small cars would be 100% electric with a good range of 250kms.

All this is very interesting - lets see what Tata have to offer, first. Joz's post makes it look like a mix-and-match of various cars...but it cannot be a smart because it has to be 4 door.
DIESEL ? ? i heard it would be petrol engine sourced from KINETIC () with
CVT ... i think they definitely cant sell diesel for 1 lac. 2 cylinder ace costs 2.35 lac.

if maruti wants to beat tata in the entry seg then expect no radial tyres, only four of them,no crystalclear lights etc no sidervms......so it will be dirty stripped car which certainly would sell......but what if Omni gets all these choices it wold be even mre cheaper in price
