I have posted this in another thread.
I am getting a 90K discount for 2015 1.6 Alpha over a 2016 model.
Anyone who has go a better deal? I sense I still have room for negotiation. Also is the budget related hike applicable for a 2015 model?

I don't think its appropriate to compare the two.
S-Cross price cut is mainly for 1.6L model and that too few months after the launch, so the customers would be a few hundred.
Secondly how should Ford determine the cut-off date for cars sold which shall be eligible for refund and what is the surety that the customers who are left out won't go to court claiming injustice. Its far easier said than done.

Also the customers try their best to pick the cars that are not affected by budget price hike, going by the same logic, they should pay for the hike on each and every car.

MSIL has refunded the extra amount to the previous buyers of S-cross. Will ford do the same?

90K for the 2015 model over the current prices is a good deal, IMO. But bargain hard, and you can bring it up to, may be, 1-1.2L.

I bought a 2015 model 1.6 Zeta in February 2016 for a discount of ~2L compared to the revised pricing before budget. Ideally, you can try to push for some more discounts or freebees.
However, when I tried to negotiate for 2015 Alpha 1.6, the final price I could arrive at was 14.6 L, when revised price was ~15 L. This makes me believe that the amount of discount offered on 1.6 Alpha is less compared to other variants.

If you really like 1.6 and if it is within your budget, I would suggest you to negotiate a bit more and close the deal. It is gem of a car !. Once you are behind the wheel, you will forget the price you paid.

(Disclaimer: All pricing details are approximate numbers and on-road Bangalore)

I had asked to a TD of the 1.6 S Cross. The car was to come at 5 pm, till 5:30 pm there was no sign of the car. On calling the Sales guy - no response. So I messaged to say, I could not wait & left. 6 pm the fellow texts to say he too "tying" up in showroom, so he will "get Back"

So much for the "premium" sales force. Completely unimpressed.

As for the prices, yes they confirmed that there is a 2 lac reduction & no discounts.

The sales rep at a Nexa dealer here in Bangalore told me that the 1.6 Delta and 1.6 Zeta have been discontinued. Does anyone here know if that's indeed the case?

Not true. In case if the dealer has no stock and a new car has to be ordered the lead time is 4- 6 weeks for the DDiS320.

I heard the same from the Nexa dealer in Mumbai.

Only the 1.6 Alpha is available, with a 45 day waiting period if the dealership has no stock.

Very sad if the 1.6 Zeta is no longer available - was looking to buy it in the next month or so. I am not a fan of auto headlamps and rain sensing wipers and leather and cruise control.

Was thinking of spending the difference between the Zeta and Alpha (I have the budget for the 1.6 Alpha) on remap/mods.

Called the 1800 number, and the lady confirmed that all 3 variants of the 1.6 are available.

I guess I will now attempt to book the car next week and see how it goes ...

Dealer at Chennai (Popular Automobiles) mentioned that only Alpha version of 1.6 is available, but didn't mention that other two variants has been discontinued.
Perhaps temporarily stopped in order to meet the surge in demand from other model, especially Brezza.

Dropped in to Kalyani Nexa, JP Nagar Bangalore, today morning.

As per the RM, all variants of the 1.6 (Delta, Zeta, Alpha) are available. However, 1.6 are mostly being made to order only. So I can book one and wait 45-60 days for delivery. RM says it usually takes only 45 days max, but I think I will take that statement with a pinch of salt.

Totally agree with the pricing. I am guessing it is Maruti's way to again conquer the compact SUV market by tricking the nail on head. Perfect package with a perfect price tag.

Is this true?

In an exclusive update, our sources reveal that the company is now planning to discontinue S-Cross 1.6 DDiS version due to poor sales. The engine is imported into India, thereby making it a pretty costly component and they may have estimated higher volumes for economies of scale.

If volumes are a problem - there are a host of vehicles in their own stable that would benefit from this engine. For starters - the Ciaz!

But even then, Maruti should've expected a mediocore response to the 1.6L given that there are very few buyers who would value performance over price + FE.
Maybe they could pull of a Polo GT TSi move by plonking in the AMT on the 1.6L engine, especially given how the Creta has just been launched more affordable trims of it's automatic variant.
