And what happens is , i get a call from tata motors premium car support asking what do you need. This was instantly after i put my number there.
Same thing happened with me. Although, I was also told that the bookings will commence from 1st November. But apparently the details would be disclosed only in Jan '17.

Damn good spec. Thanks for sharing RavenAvi.
I have been waiting for this launch ever since I excluded Innova Crysta from my list.

Few things are clear now: There is no 4x4 AT version and also there is no Adaptive air suspension.
The drive modes regulate the Power curves, ESP, TCS and ABS systems for a different driving response.

Well - it now boils down to the actual pricing. It sure is loaded to the gills.
One good thing will probably emerge out of this - whether it proves to be a bestseller (as most of us hope) or not. This should compel the other guys to launch their full spec versions - instead of the half full glasses we keep getting.

Oh boy! TATA needs to lose weight. Hexa has 2280kgs of it!

This means it has lower power to weight (68.4bhp/ton) , and torque to weight (175.4 Nm/ton) figures than Innova 2.2 and XUV 5OO, weighing 1805 kg and 1865kg respectively. There goes the Varicor 400 advantage.

Innova 2.8 AT is way ahead in these parameters.

They have managed to generate some buzz on twitter today. Pratapbose (or whoever handles his twitter account) responds fairly quickly and i could see lot of retweets and likes. I am eagerly waiting for the feedback from T-bhp team on the Hexa. The new design language is a great start.

That means Tata did their homework well, hopefully.

And i think Tata is playing it safe, i mean, start booking from November, guage the response/demand and plan the assembly.

+1 looks like there is no 5 speed manual either for lower versions

Confirmed during media interaction - the Hexa AT comes in a 4x4 avatar as well.

They would have worked with the gear ratios and fine-tuned the engine accordingly.

Earlier videos have shown the Hexa rocketing across the highways, so I am pretty confident they have done their homework with the extra weight the crossover SUV will pull.

Exact feedback on this aspect will be known tomorrow.

Not confirmed yet, since variants spread and details have not been given out.

A few other points:

- The Hexa has a "Creep" mode which is optimised for urban stop & go traffic.
- The Hexa's "Racecar" mapping function keeps the engine on the boil in the 3,000-4,000 RPM powerband for a powerful drive, when needed.
- The ambient lighting inside the Hexa's cabin can be controlled with the owner's paired smartphone.
- Owners will be able to download separate apps for the Hexa's infotainment system, such as offline navigation, jukebox, service manuals, service cost calculators, etc.
- All doors come with curtain sunblinds inside to protect the occupants from sun glare.

I doubt you'll hear anything from the t-bhp mods so soon. They take their time to properly analyze the details before putting a word to the masses here.

I guess this will be introduced a bit later than the other variants ?

That statement is very generic.
Coming from Storme owner - When the service center fixes those basic issues, that is a good service.

I am sure if a customer visits a showroom, they will definitely come up with concerns other than just service - even when it is Toyota!!!

It is bulky!

I hope it beats Innova in features and prices. Hexa has 4X4 advantage over Innova and looks like it has better music system as well. Another area where it will beat Innova is the service interval. Anyways, Innova will always have reliability factor in its favor.

Yes, they would have.

But, such a weight disadvantage will have its negative effects elsewhere. Like FE, tyre wear (Those 19ers would cost a bomb too) etc. Hope they have addressed all these.

But still they really need to diet for their future models. 2280 is a huge figure!

Even in that case, he super reliable Innova may require more visits to the service centre due to its unrealistic service intervals.

AT 4X4 will be a welcome change. However, people will go for it only after it is tested by some for at least a year or so.

I always thought that the manufacturers should consider the plight of drivers in Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. I guess my prayers are answered by 'creep' mode. Alas, I will not have it in my car in near future.
