recently spied by our photographers appears to have pro shafts peeking out of the middle of the steel wheels and a transfer case in the middle. Clearances next to the exhaust pipe on the right are a little tight, although this is to be expected for such a tiny car.

I think this new design may blend well with a boot. Finally a Dzire that is Desirable !!
The previous ones have not allowed the maruti engineers to design a cohesive looking design on the Dzire.

IMO, they have to make the new gen DZire based on this Swift a 4.2m long car. There may be an addition of 50K as the extra tax, but people will be ready to pay it for the extra space and more cohesive design. Or, they can introduce the SHVS to nullify the extra tax.

Cannibalization of Ciaz? May be to some extend, but that doesn't matter much as Ciaz is selling around 5K units only.

Maruti, please get out of the sub-4m sedan segment cleverly. It's where the most awkward looking cars exist. A sub-4m hatch, MUV or SUV will be looking OK, but not a sedan.

The next Dzire is very much a sub-4m car. I have not seen it without camouflage and hence cannot confirm if it looks better than the current one, but it is definitely not over 4 meters in length.

As awkward as it might look, I don't think MSIL will want to change the formula on their best-seller without a really good reason.

AWD option has always been available for Swift since Gen 1 in Europe. This on the next gen is no surprise.

Suzuki Swift Sport to go turbo.

Suzuki’s next-generation small hot hatch will get 1.4-litre Boosterjet engine; due late next year, following the launch of the new standard Swift supermini in the summer.

Quote:
Power for the Swift Sport will come from a more potent version of the 138bhp 1.4-litre Boosterjet engine already used in the Vitara crossover. This will replace the high-revving 136bhp normally aspirated 1.6-litre engine used in the current car. Expect all of the traits that have given the first two generations of Swift Sport cult status to carry over to the new car, including the engaging handling, impressive body control, slick manual gearbox, subtle bodykit and low kerb weight, which could even drop to less than 1000kg in the next-generation car.
The production version of the new compact is expected at the Paris show later this year before going on sale early 2017

The Standard new Swift range, the big news will be the arrival of the 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine from the Baleno.
Quote:
The standard version of the next-generation Swift received an early online debut in March when images of a design concept were leaked. The proportions remain similar to those of the current model, but the design features an altogether sharper and more technical look, with sculpted body sides and a more distinctive treatment for the C-pillars.

No. This is the 2011 S concept shown by Suzuki, which previewed the last generation Swift sport.

https://www.netcarshow.com/suzuki/2011-swift_s_concept/

The C pillar is a clear giveaway that this is not the upcoming Swift.
