Expect the following for the Suzuki 2017 Swift launch ,

1. EuroNCAP test - First Half of 2017
2. Global Swift unveil - Geneva International Motor Show in March
3. Europe launch - June
4. Expected India Launch - Sept-Oct
5. Swift Sport( Global)- End 2017
6. Swift Sport likely to be show cased at the Auto Expo 2018,followed by its launch

The Swift Hatchback is scheduled only for 2018 1st quarter at the earliest. As per birdies in Maruti, the Swift will be made both at Manesar and Gujrat like Baleno. And it will be Nexa probably.

Launch during the 2018 Auto Expo? I doubt if the Swift will go to Nexa, the Swift Sport will in all likelihood go to Nexa, but the regular Swift, I don't think so.

I do not details but there is no Sports version scheduled for India.At least not within 2018. I think entire global line up will go to Nexa. India specific or Indo- Japanese models will be Non NEXA.

a four-cylinder HYBRID RS have been quiet and smooth. This is for everyone in the sense that it could not compete with Turbo, this is combined with auxiliary transmission with CVT and is fast and fun.
As long as the suspension is in the RS series has given European tuned shock absorbers, tires, power steering, and maybe that's why driving in urban ride is considerably stiffer.

That's an aggressive looking hatchback. Nice proportions too! The Swift's competitors, if they weren't afraid till now, should be dreading this one's arrival on our shores. Only gripe that I can see are the C-pillar door handles (Beat-like).

It is odd that suddenly maruti is pushing every new car to Nexa, only Brezza went to the the normal showroom recently if i am correct. They have plans to pull ciaz also, guess this will impact the morale of the normal dealers.

Swift by all means should go to Normal showrooms, it is the bread and butter car for non nexa dealers along with Alto.

Just test drove the Swift 2017 in Nagoya. It's a Swift all right. Handles like one but doesn't have the novelty factor of 1st gen Swift. The dualjet motor of Japan will not make it to India but is a lot quieter. I drove the Boosterjet version as well, followed by the Baleno Boosterjet. Didn't like either. Noisy as hell, similar to a diesel. I hate diesels anyway, do we can put that down to bias.
Otherwise, it's a Swift and a real shame, we won't get the advanced gadgets in India, especially the radar-laser based AEB.
