Miscellaneous AT fluid, etc.: 0.5L

If you driving style has heavy brake wear, you will definitely benefit. Check their fine print about brake jobs (they usually have a clause to keep it reasonable). And of course you are protected against inflation/forex, etc. If you think about it "statistically", Mercedes would have priced it based on a bell curve. With low usage, company will benefit. With high usage, you will benefit.

However don't confuse this package with peace of mind. This is not insurance/warranty type of product that is covering $$$ liability. Without this package you will have 3-5L services costs for the next 4 years, no big deal if you consider interest, etc. Nobody has a problem with scheduled service costs such as the ones I listed above. Many of us would consider it very lucky if this is the only cost of ownership.

Also they tend to under-service cars with such packages. For instance they will not change brake pads as eagerly as they would on a car without package.

Any premature sale, or lesser usage than planned can make it a bad purchase.
Hello Mate

I did purchase the 2yr / unlimited service package for Rs 1,19,000.
It just covers the service related parts excluding brake pads and rotors.

With my driving style, and 60k km on the odo, I have had 3 changes of break pad and 2 changes of rotors. I guess Mercedes pads don't last long, hence I've switched over to Brembo drilled rotors and pads.

Regards

Pradeep

Hey that's good info. Thanks for sharing. My usage also needs a brake job every 20K km.

And where did you get the Brembo job done, cost, etc? Do they come with brake wear sensors?

Don't you think high wear is due to better stopping performance, so you might be compromising the stopping performance by using longer lasting brake pads?

Well I did purchase mine from the Brembo dealer in Chennai, United motors.
Total damage 29k which included drilled rotors for the front and plain ones for the rear, brake pads and sensors 2nos.

He charged me Rs 250 for a sensor, which was reasonable.

I had the fixing job done at Titanium Mercedes. They billed me 5k. I could have done it for half the price from a local garage but I prefer the specialist.

Well when compared to stopping distance, initially the brakes did feel soft but after around 100 km, u get the same amount of grip.

Hope she runs good. I don't mind premature wear off but just that it should not squeak. A chronic problem with my 3 brake pads/rotors changes.

Oh I thought dealers won't do the job if you buy parts from outside - like "no outside food allowed"

They do make a note, saying that these parts are not OEM and that they are not responsible for the failure of parts.
