Maruti is really playing it safe. They must have spent more on the ad campaign than the sticker job on what ever they hope to sell combined.

Swift Deca, limited edition model is a tribute to one of sport's ultimate symbols of glory - the number "10". This holds especially true for football, where the best players in the game's history have carried the legendary "10" on their backs.

Is it just me, or would people stay away from it considering how it would start to look as it ages?

MSIL is all out to sell copies of outgoing Swift with these limited editions. Last month it was for the entry level petrol trim LXi with music system and 4.58 lac as invitation price and now VDi and VXi.

I am sure there are buyers ready to pick up this limited edition too. A minor price increase is considered as VFM by many perspective buyers and MSIL plays it well every time.

It seems that the marketing department in the company is always on lookout of opportunities to push those few extra copies to maintain its share.

Cheers Maruti ! You manage it time and again.

A football edition car in a cricket loving nation. Hmm interesting i guess football fans are growing. I guess and hope Maruti is pushing its last existing stocks and making way for the new Swift.

They have some features of the Z trim like keyless entry, but does it also have dual airbags and abs as well ?

Seems Maruti is on a spree of Limited Editions.

"Maruti Suzuki on Saturday announced special edition of its car Alto in the name of Indian cricketer M S Dhoni coinciding with the upcoming multi lingual biopic on the cricket star. Dhoni along with Maruti Suzuki executive director R S Kalsi unveiled the special editions of Alto800 and AltoK10 at an event in Hyderabad on Saturday.

Alto's association with 'MS Dhoni The Untold Story' is based on the cricketer's massive popularity which harmonizes with the credibility of Alto in India, the company said.

"M S Dhoni with his determination, successful leadership and hard work has achieved iconic stature. Maruti Suzuki Alto too is India's most loved car and an icon amongst automobiles. Alto appeals to customers for its design, performance, high fuel efficiency and affordable cost. Alto and M S Dhoni share great synergy for their unique qualities. This association will help to connect Alto even stronger with the customers,"said Kalsi.

The special edition Alto has Dhoni inspired seat covers with number '7', Dhoni's signature decal and body graphics, high-end music system, reverse parking censors among other features, the company said.

This edition is available in Alto(Lxi), Alto K10(Lxi, Vxi) variants. It is offered with a choice of two colour interior combinations-Black plus Silver and Red plus Blue. The cars with these additional features are offered at an additional price of Rs 16,777 and Rs 12,777 depending on the variants.
These cars will be made available at dealership points from the first week of October, 2016, according to statement."

  • The armrest seems good.
  • Are the alloys part of the deal, yet they mention the tires as 14 inchers.
  • White version is not shown anywhere.
  • Does ABS feature here?
  • It's got fog lamps?
  • How much it differ in price with the VDi ABS version?
  • Can the sticker job be removed afterwards?

EDIT:
MSIL's press release lists out the salient features as :

Sony Multimedia touch screen music system with Bluetooth and external
Sony 6” speakers on the doors
Exterior styling kit (skirting and spoiler)
Trendy sports inspired seat covers
Steering wheel cover
Reverse Parking Assist System with camera
Sporty exterior graphics with Decal
Interior styling kit
Front Arm Rest
Door Sitt guard
Ambient light
Trendy floor mats
Gear Boot Cover

Quote:
Maruti Swift Deca edition is available at a special price, bringing a benefit of over Rs. 18,000/- on the accessory kit, to the customer
Does this mean no ABS, no alloys, no fog lamps?

FURTHER EDIT:

The downloaded PDF brochure says:
Parking assistant with camera
ABS and BA for diesel model
Bluetooth compatible music system
Front fog lamps and bezel ornament
14" steel wheels
