My car of the year is the Ford Endeavour!

Rarely does a car come across which is an all-rounder in its duties, looks fantastic and has an air of desirability around it. Forget the 30 lakh segment, I know some people who had a 50 - 60 lakh budget, and still bought the Endeavour! BHPian Mad_Monkey - who owns a Land Rover - recently bought an Endeavour 3.2. He says that the Ford makes his Land Rover look terribly overpriced. Definitely an SUV that punches above its weight.

The styling is butch & timeless, I like the interiors, the powerful 3.2L turbo-diesel even sounds amazing, the suspension offers a great ride & handling balance and the steering is superb to use. It can offroad, and has a topnotch safety kit too. Ford's reliability is overall satisfactory & you don't have to worry about European scares (steep cost of maintenance, breakdowns, expensive everything) with this one. An SUV that's after my heart...yet appeals to the head.

If we needed another car in the family, the Endeavour 3.2 would already be parked in my driveway. It's the best car I've tested in 2016. Been a good year for Ford - they've launched 2 highly desirable cars this year (the other being powered by a V8 ).

Voted for Tiago, for giving hope to Tata after the Vista, Bolt debacle. Tiago is indeed a competitive product.

Other close contenders were Innova, which is either minor change over the previous generation, and Brezza, which is launched more in response to competition.

For sure, it has to be Tiago !

Amazing job done Tata Motors.
Looking forward for seeing Tiago in INRC soon.
Its a very competitive product in the segment & giving a tough fight for Celerio.

Also, as Tata Motors is now at #3; so Tiago is what I have voted for.
Hoping that Tiago AMT will soon be here to eat up Celerio AMT.

Voted for Tiago. Tata has put a competitive and quality product in common man's reach. Now one doesn't have to compromise much compared to all the products available in the market till its launch. In addition, the number of variants and their price points mean there's something for everyone. Thus, the Tiago.

Voted for the Brezza. Maruti has done a great job in providing what the common Indian wants today, an affordable SUV like car if I can say so !!

Maruti has done a great job with the design, the general equipment offered and decent safety kit coupled with the ride, handling and FE to boot as well. This surely has to be the common man's car of the year atleast for me

I voted for the Tata Tiago. Am a customer.

Feel that it's one of the best fresh/new products launched from the Tata stable and is better in many aspects than products from even a segment above (read: interior build quality, materials, ICE, space inside the vehicle etc.).

Voted for the Tiago. A competent product from Tata which seems to be priced well. Good response from customers. A definite change in their design approach and a big shift in quality. Reliability and after sale are still a huge gamble, but still believe this is a good package overall. Stock audio quality is very good at this price point (my personal opinion and I ain't a audiophile).

Some of these have been clever repackaging of existing products (Brezza, BRV). Some have been improved iterations of the previous models and tasted success(Crysta).

But only a handful have been products that either broke new ground or took a shot at existing segments with fresh products(Tiago, KUV, VCross). I personally feel these are the real contenders, and at least to me the Tiago would be the pick of the lot. Add the fact that it's also about the resurrection of a brand close to our hearts, and I have a feeling it might dominate the poll this time.

And let me make another prediction: with high chances of Hexa pulling this feat for 2017, Tata 'might' have a car of the year 3 times in 4 years. Go back few years and most would have laughed at any such possibility!

I was split between Tiago and V-cross, then considering the things the Tiago brings to a car that sits so low in price point, voted for Tiago.

Voted for Tiago. Good effort from Tata after a long time. Even the sales charts are ticking all the good for Tata.
The other one I loved is Ford Endeavour. A perfect and complete car.

To me it's very close contest between Tiago and Endeavour. Tiago is best quality product launched by Tata and it doesn't feel like a compromise for it's price. Endeavour looks to be the only SUV ticking all boxes on how a real SUV should look and feel like. It has so much road presence and everytime I see one I see smile on my face. Have finally voted for Tiago only because it caters to masses and is one of a kind from Tata.

Tiago.
Styling, Build quality, NVH, Ride comfort, Cabin Ambience, Infotainment. All wrapped up in a very competitive price package, a price accessible to all.

It deserves to be the car of the year.

My vote goes for the new endeavour. I think it's a big step up from the previous generation regarding everything and offers a great package at good price point especially the trend 44. Still has that macho looks despite looking modern and up-to-date.

If not endeavour, I would have casted my vote for the tiago for the sheer commitment of Tata to come back with confidence and quality.

Voted for the Endeavour!

Clearly, it was the car which challenged the conventional segment dynamics.
Primary reasons for the vote
- Well designed (mechanically & aesthetically)
- Revamped Ford's brand image
- The only challenger to the Toyota dominance in the SUV segment
- Wide range covered by the 2.2/3.2 l engine options
