Hey Jerry, your location says Casablanca/Rabat. Why dont you have a brief test-drive and post an impression of Linea for us T-Bhpians?

The last month I was there, I saw many Lineas and GP's

Agreed, the 77 bhp engine would be a cheaper option, but whether it will give better f.e can be open to debate. It all depends on what transmission the respective engine is coupled with and the balance between driveability and performance that they wish to achieve.

That said, i thought you were speculating as to what engine fiat would offer on the car in india, so i mentioned a possibility that you had not covered in your post.

Wow! Jerry, that's great.
1.3 MJD with 90BHP and a great price tag will do wonders here. Come on! Tell us how it felt.

Default 150 BHP Diesel to kill competition

Why is it that no one is talking about 150 BHP Diesel, is it not 1.9 MJD? I would call it a killer engine FE+ Performance, drooling already cheers:

Fiat India might seriously contemplate on that after the SX4 1.9D sells over 2L cars!

Linea's ride is not that enjoyable like swift. There is a bad turbo lag.IMO 1.9 engine is more suitable in Linea.Even though it has 90BHP i didnt feel much response from the engine.Dont get upset it is not bad anyway.Overall the Linea is a awesome car especially the music system by blaupunkt is good.It is priced 1080000 Rs OTR in morocco for top end version called Dynamic plus.

I believe Fiat is already killing Linea before its launch by not offering fabulous 150 BHP Diesel and delaying the launch. The best deal for me would be Fiat's engine and body design coupled with Hyundai service at Tata's price. I think I am day dreaming. I wish I had a few billions, this is the deal I'd make, buy all of them companies .

If skoda octavia can sell with 11L price tag definitely Linea with 1.9 engine will be a success in India.Linea is a solid car. After i drove the 1.3MJD 90bhp i prefer Linea with 1.9 engine.
