Default Re: What features do you wish your car had?

A Maruti-Suzuki Ignis 1.2P Zeta MT

1. Auto-folding mirrors based on locking/unlocking or ignition on/off.
2. Sliding/reclining rear seats as on the EU, Japanese and Oz spec variants (too much to ask for in India, but still).
3. Optic park assist as seen in all VAG products including the Polo and even the Fabia as far back as 2008!
4. Heated ORVMs (again not very common in this segment in India, but then the aforementioned Fabia had this feature as well and it's available on even the most basic cars in Western markets).
5. Cooled glovebox (found on the Grand i10 and even the Tata Tiago!).
6. Boot lamp doesn't turn on automatically (one has to feel for that extremely tiny, fiddly switch in the dark; one might as well turn on their phone's flashlight and find a place to hold it).
7. Cabin light is located at the front of the cabin (I get that it is a small car, but really the only cars where the sole cabin light should be placed upfront is in two-seaters).
8. At least the driver's side door switches should have been illuminated.

Of these, 1, 6 and 7 are an absolute annoyance on a daily basis.

Tata Tiago XZ (Diesel)
- Climate control (Tata has offered it in Tigor XZ)
- Better Seats for long drives (Factory seats are too soft)
- Metallic oil sump (a necessity)

Suzuki Ritz VXi
- Lane change indicators
- Electronically adjustable ORVM

I have a fetish for power seats and cruise control.
And wish for:
- Reclining and sliding rear seats
- Front and rear armrests
- Rolling sun shades on all four windows
- HUD
- Steering mounted controls
- Power mirrors with folding
- Padded door armrests

I can't stand indicators on mirrors and keyless entry. There's something satisfying about twisting the key in the hole. And those indicators should know that they belong in the kitchen... I mean... fenders.

Maruti Suzuki 800 May 1995:
1. Air Conditioner
2. Manual dimming IRVM

Maruti Suzuki Zen VX March 2001:
1. Power Steering
2. 13 in. Alloys

Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 2012:
1. ABS

Toyota Fortuner 4X4 June 2012:
1. Navigation
2. Remote controller for back seat passengers
3. USB charging for middle row passengers
4. Sunroof
5. Electric passenger seat adjustment

There is a bigger wish list like for Fortuner and Zen, I wish it had better brakes, for 800 I wished it had a 5th gear etc but those aren't features necessarily and hence I am not listing those.

I have Celerio Zxi AMT, given the price tag it has, one cannot ask for more. But if given a choice, here is the list of features I wish the car had:

1) Dead Padle
2) Start/Stop Ignition Button
3) Seats with more cushion and sturdiness
4) Reverse Camera
5) More Lights inside - Rooftop Center for passengers, Footwell, Mood Lighting(now I am getting greedy )
6) DRL
7) Bottom Engine Cover. It gives me cheap feeling when I see the ground through engine bay, how much a plastic cover can cost?
8) Better Horn.

6. OVRMs that automatically open and close when the car is started and shut off
Missed one
7. Memory for Seat, steering, rear view mirror and temperature settings.

Ford Ecosport TDCi:

1. 3000k HID Projector Low Beam & Halogen High Beam (dual pod lights like in new Ecosport) - Current headlights are pathetic
2. 6 Speed Gearbox with a cruising overdrive (1750rpm at 100kmph in 6th gear)
3. 8 speaker audio system as option (atleast from Titanium onwards)
4. Arm Rest for front seats (considering the space available in between)
5. Rear Disc Brakes
6. Better OE tires instead of horrible MRF / Goodyear (I had to spend 21k before delivery for Michelin P3STs)
7. SYNC system from Endeavour instead of the current chinese piece of shit (although mine's working decently *touchwood*)

i20 Active Petrol:

1. 1.6 Petrol engine from Verna with that 6 speed MT from Creta (considering the lofty premium over Elite i20) - Would have made it the hot hatch for the segment
2. HID Projectors (3000k) as OE fitment
3. Option of all black interiors / black leather seats

I have a 2016 Polo comfortline MPI

Things I wish my polo had as standard.

- Better headlights. (VW has various versions of polo headlamp running around worldwide, I don't understand why are they aren't upgrading the Indian polo)

- Armrest with rear AC vents

- Discs at all four corners

- Panoramic sunroof (I don't want it to slide open and all, just some glass above my head to light up the interior and give a more roomier feel)

- Option of a sportier exhaust

Grand i10 Asta

1. Cooling seats (I know it's a hatchback but now that Verna gets it, I wouldn't mind paying a little extra to have it on my car)
2. DRLs
3. Arm Rest (Front & Back)
4. Reverse Camera
5. Auto dimming ORVMs

BMW X1 (F48) X line
1. Cooling seats (Damn, the Verna gets it!! Are you listening BMW??)
2. Reverse Camera (Mine happens to be the early 2017 lot, it's still missing a camera)
3. Apple CarPlay (The X1 doesn't have it even as an option, why BMW why?)
4. Auto-dimming left ORVM (X1 strangely has Auto-Dimming only for the driver's side mirror, the Skoda Octavia which is half the price gets both)
5. Sunglass holder (Being an optician, it really hurts to see this feature missing)
6. Rolling Sunshades (Magnetic Curtains at least)
7. Cooling Glovebox (My i10 gets it)
8. Automatic tailgate (The European X1 gets it)
