Seriously, the creator of this thread, should consider changing the topic name, as it is misleading and giving wrong signals to the readers.

I guess. it is not at all related to 1.6. FIAT want to avail the benefits of cut in excise duty of 8% as well as to discontinue the 1242cc due to low-end torque.

How is this new 1.1 related to the 1.0 FIRE of the UNO and the 1.2 in the Palio? Are they all esentially the same engine with different bore sizes?

Lets hope so :-) At least, all the indicators with the new Palio point to that.

One of the reasons I bought myself a Palio 1.2 a couple of months back is the new look. I didnt like it much .. and preferred the old look over the new one.

Navdeep,

The interiors do not change except for the colour of the upholstery.

Default Expect the NEW PALIO with Petrol as well as CNG option

Dear All,

What I understand that FIAT is investing 4000 crore in Indian operation (2000 cr X 2 phases). They are launching the new Palio (which they launched in Latin America and South Africa/China/Turkey) some times back in Jan 07. Grande Punto is expected in Jan 08. Hence, they are definitely not discontinuing the Palio nor the Adventure. The same will be manufactured from Ranjangaon factory.

Hey - These are rumors..Fiat has invested heavily and their cars may be low on mileage but are ergonomically sound and very secure...Drive my adventure once and u wud never want to get up from the drivers seat. I think they lack service which hopefully tata motors shud help on..but definately the Palio is very much part of their stable at least thats what Wasan Motors told me...
