Turbo lag is more than you can imagine. I have booked my car and hoping the demo car had some problem.

Maybe it was just the test mule, but as I said somewhere earlier on this thread, it sounds like a 207 DI when pushed.
Compared to that, the Octy and the Verna are well...inoffensive sounding.

The engine spec numbers look pretty good n competitive pricing should make this a winner.
But i'll till someone puts up an extensive TD report..

International spec
Quote:
Here are the specs:

2.0 litre TCDi diesel, common rail turbodiesel engine, developing 121PS at 3,800rpm and 280Nm of torque at 2,000rpm.
Indian spec:
2.0 litre TCDi diesel, common rail turbodiesel engine, developing 120.5 PS at 3,000rpm and 314Nm of torque at 2,125rpm

So are we Torque happy folks. Also I think this is a first where the model lineup for diesel has a difference in external looks, name etc.Interesting strategy or is the present petrol line-up going to also get a change.

Ok..your pricing better be wrong or else I would really feel bad. I didn't/don't expect it to be priced so competitively since an insider told me that it was going to be well above 10L even for base model.
Hmm...lets see if we can cancel the SX4

BUSA,
He's talking about me since I've been waiting for Diesel Optra forever and finally my father booked SX4 last week which comes on 16th June.

people sure are fast here, rodeo has already booked the optra diesel. todays paper carries the full page ad on optra magnum. specs look terrific! hell of torque and engine capacity. this one sure is looking SRV-ish to some extent at the front. and the usual mantra of european styling (as though we never knew how to style things!) is only adding to the charm. GM sure is waking up to a new dawn in india.

Todays newspaper(TOI) has a whole page dedicated to the magnum. DH also has an article with the price.

Interesting comparison with international spec...I think this is the first a car is been launched here in India without being detuned at all...
That torque figure is quite intimidating..Imagine what will happen if Pete's plonks its box in this...

There's no ad of the magnum in TOI delhi....!

Very impressively spec'd car! Will need to take a TD to know how good the numbers really are on road. IMHO present look is a bit better than the older one..this kind of looks more tough!
