Default New Grand Vitara Coming soon.. (2007 model)

Had seen this earlier this month. Maruti is probably launching this next month. With both the manual and an automatic transmission. Interiors look okay..maybe are made up of high quality materials.

The previous Vitara didnt fail because it was impotent. It did due to its pricing and Maruti's brand image as a mass-car manufacturer. I dont see the Grand Vitara being any different this time, unless Suzuki does some slick marketing.

I alway loved Grand Vitara.. Its one nice car.. though it still cannot give competition to CRV. Tuscon being 1.5 - 2 lac being less costlier than old CRV and in diesel avtar can not break CRV sales.

The only way Maruti can go with Grand Vitara is price it at 15 lac and introduce a diesel version. Maruti cars are not known for Brand Image. Any maruti above 7 lac hardly sells if we see history records...

They can either under cut the CRV and offer us a good deal or just join the rip-off bandwagon like before.

Exactly what I was thinking. If they price it correctly they can actually give competition to the CRV since it is now priced higher.

Else yeah a total rip off to pay more than 18L.

To see this car and many more that are coming in 2007, visit ARAI within the next few days. The entire area is filled with vehicles, including those like the new Tata TL, only problem is that they have now barricaded the place with ropes/wooden poles and a guard is constantly there.

Nice car for obvious reasons but can turn out to be a flop if priced too high in the CRV range,
14 sounds okay or say nominal ,
12 will be ideal ,
17 will be suicidal.

Even pricing of 14l seems to be a bit high as I have personally had a good look at it recently in a showroom. Its tad smaller than (3rd row is very small for luggages and 2nd row is just perfect) the old GV sold in india. 2l TD is available with both manual and auto option with all other bells and whistles. In my humble opinion it should be pitted against high spec safaris/scorpios/Tuscon etc and not surely against a giant like CRVs. If we can get it around otr 12l-13l, i will say we have a winner here...but volume...still a lot to be considered...but worth every penny as it looks really cool and its a solid 4x4 with excellent handling/durability and its from suzuki! so less worries...the pricing here is almost equal may be a bit higher than tucson 2l crdi auto high spec...which sells around 14l in india. if they take out auto and few other extra luxury stuffs then they can price it around 13l or max 14l.

Maxbhp is right on. 14 is best. Not many will pay 17 for a Vitara. This is why it failed when launched earlier. It was too pricey.
