they should award the prize to the new small car being developed by tatas in the controversial project at Singur. It will be most fuel efficient of all and environment friendly as well. It will only cause a lot of noise pollution due to the sloganeering happening on account of the car project.

Is Estilo not more affordable, better FE (guess), better maintenance (being a GM, U-VA would be definitely costly here), far lesser priced?

I hate all these awards, be it autos, films, books, TV (reality shows) or any other. Every result is suspicious, every decision seems biased, every jury seems to favour some particular... Moreover sometimes they try to make everybody happy by providing some xyz award to everyone. U-VA, Civic , Verna CRDi, Camry all got an award, 4 were awarded out of 15-odd launches!

Awards are view-only/read-only things, View-Smile-Forget! No processing should be done, no action to be taken, you will stay happy.
Infact UVA is more costly than Swift ZXI in Mumbai. Swift/ZXI has more features(Airbags+Climate Control+Drvr Seat height Adj) + more powerful engine. It seems GM has not passed small car duty reduction to customers.

Default UVA misleading info

Chevy UVA site gives price of LT-option pack as 5,35,411(ex-showroom Mumbai) and a list of equipment. There rear-spoiler & CD player is mentioned with a *. It means dealer fit with extra cost. If it is not included in the price why give it? It may mislead people to think that GM is giving spoiler & CD Player within the price & competitors are not giving these.

Yup, no one could miss that full page ad in the TOI yesterday which screams " Bigger than Big" or something. Of course COTY BS Motoring had to be the center point.
COTY BS motoring has suddenly gone missing from the ads.

In today's ad in TOI (full back page) it clearly mentions COTY BS MOTORING.

To all the people here who criticised BS Motoring without test driving the U-VA,

TOP GEAR also named the U-VA better than the Swift and Getz. Swift finished 2nd and Getz third....

Of course, Top Gear will anyday select a GM product over Suzuki and Hyundai...

New Car. New Car Sales Targets. New Car Ad Budgets. New Magazine issues. New Ad Revenues. New Magazine Sales.

Is this really so hard to understand?

With our seeing on the road and some feed back from the owners
how the cars can be judged as the car of year.

It is no correct.

haha.... no I dont. I wish I worked there though :(

Thing is, I thought team-bhp comprised of very sane reasonable people. I am sorry to say that I was very disappointed with this thread.

Most of the people who have commented havent even driven the U-VA (Drifter is the only one I guess).

I dont drive yet. Doint have a DL. So, I have no opinion on ANY car.

But I get irritated when people talk like experts without any evidence.

Of course, maybe the U-VA is really not as good the competitors (in the COTY contest) and it didnt deserve to win. That is besides the point.

Point is, why and how do people pass judgements on a brand new car without ever driving it??

And how do you know BS Motoring didnt test it ??
