But, the diference between the 2 models is only 20 K. Still the SEIFT rules in price aspect.

So the getz prime has been launched with a price tag of 3.89 lakhs for the 1.1 petrol and 5.24 lakhs for the highest variant with a 1.3 petrol engine.

Car's to feel the pinch would be the Chevrolet U-va and the higher variants of santro, will have to wait and see if it affects maruti swift sales and the other cars from its stables[wagonr ,estilo].

And what about the diesel variant,no news about that?

Why would anyone want a 1.1 getz when they can get a 1.3 swift for just 10k more?

ok I dont like putting any info without a reliable source with it but couldn't resist this.

Well I know this guy at Trident Hyundai who is in charge of corporate sales there. I was just casually talking to him about the getz prime, telling him the car's taken a nose dive in quality. The talk went to the CRDi getz.
I asked him if it will get a detuned 1.5l Verna engine. He said nope that engine is too expensive for the getz and they already have a engine ready for the Getz. It's the 1.1L CRDi engine. They are just doing final preparations and the launch is around june-july.

Interesting and surprising! I read news even Hyundai's MD Lheem mentioning about the Getz getting old Accent's 1.5crdi plonked (Santro to get the 1.1 crdi which is slotted for actually '08.)

Santro engine Getz body, now in Petrol and then later a Getz engine (dsl) in Santro body! Hyundai get in to act of innovation...not just swapping things out...

Any figures available for the 1.1L CRDi engine? how many bhp is the engine? It's a 3 cylinder if i remember rightly.

che not at all what i predicted in the beginning of the thread. I hope it's not the 1.1L CRDi and the 1.5L.

No info about that. All the media reports say 1.5L CRDi whereas the showrrom manager here told me 1.1L CRDi in the getz. No concrete info only reports.

Going by the current pricing of the Getz prime petrol. And seeing the way car manufacturers are making a fool out of the customers with the pricing and cost cutting in the car I wont be surprised if the Getz CRDi is priced at 7L onroad.

I mean what do manufacturers think of the customers? are we fools that we dont know we are being ripped off.

If it's 1.1 CRDi..could these be the engine specification (derived from Kia Picanto 1.1 CRDi ..and since Kia-Hyundai are sister companies they may be using the same engine)
