| Source: 'Hyundai to set up small truck plant in India'-Automobiles-Auto-News By Industry-News-The Economic Times Hyundai Motor Co plans to set up a light commercial vehicle plant in India that will initially build one-tonne trucks. The plant will be located on 700 acres of land near Pune in Maharashtra, the paper said, citing sources close to the development. The company may also set up a powertrain facility to build engines and gearboxes, it said. MIDC, Pune has reportedly agreed to allot about 700 acres to Hyundai for its new plant. | Source: Reuters Business News: Hyundai denies report on India truck plant - MSN Money Hyundai has just done a U-Turn. Hyundai Motor Co. denied on Monday a report that South Korea's top auto maker planned to set up a light commercial vehicle plant in India. Earlier in the day, India's Business Line paper said Hyundai would build a factory that will initially produce one-tonne trucks near Pune in the western Indian state of Maharashtra, citing sources close to the development. The company may also set up a powertrain facility to build engines and gearboxes, it said. |

| They do have a small CV range. The one shown in the picture is the pickup version of the Hyundai H1 van, this is also sold as a Kia. They feature smaller rear wheels than the ones in front.

| V Funny. Perhaps people should learn to be less scornful of an industrial house that builds everything from Semiconductor Chips to Televisions to Flatscreens to the largest Container ships in the world to really heavy vehicles and earthmoving equipment to roadbuilders to commercial vehicles and cars, amongst a lot of other things. Its another matter that people are equally if not more scornful about another similar conglomorate that is based in India - the house of Tatas. If only people could understand what it takes to build something like that. Lower load bed - more convenient to load and unload.

| Team-BHP Support ![]() | Sometimes done on certain trucks versions where low loading height of bed is critical. Only way to bring the bed down without hitting the wheels or compromising suspension travel is to use tiny wheels.

| Distinguished - BHPian ![]() | Yup have seen this on a number of LCV's in Singapore. This is preferred there as there are many entry restrictions based on Vehicle size. The rear wheels are very small like 12" or 13" but double axle. ![]()
