100% sure buddy. When i was planing to buy a upper C car i test drove Astra, City and SFxi and settled for the 1.5 EXi. They are way superior to the Astra in all terms. Astra is just plain ugly. Had less bhp then a Carburatted Esteem(Old astras97) New Astra is a league of its own and not available in India so

overrated - maruti suzuki swift....i agree the car is good but the way people have been talking about it...its not that good man
overrated - tata indica...just because people feel that this is the only good diesel car available in india..
underrated - all palio models including palio d which i feel is much better than the tata indica
underrated - opel corsa sail...i find opel corsa a fine car ..itz neither underrated nor overrated...i just dont understand when corsa has provided the same engine in a hatchback...why peope dont find it good...these two cars have highly been underrated...maybe becuase they have heard that these two cars have a very poor servicing quality but im sure it is nothing like that

I drive one. Its one fine car, i agree. My only gripe is that it could have 40k less.
So how long have you been owning it? what model, 1.4/1.6?

RX dude - RJK was talking about comfort and not body roll and handling !!

the indigo wins hands down on back seat comfort !

come to think of it they should really come up with revised gypsy with all the goodies and place it in and around 6 lakhs ...
with a baleno 1.6 ?man it'll rock !
wider tyres ,15'' alloys, wide wheel arc moulds ..i am sure it'll sell ..
what say ?

hey turbo_lover.. regarding the gypsy, if they put the baleno engine in the gypsy, slightly tuned the engine for bottom end torque at lower rpm, factory fitted bucket seats and AC, decent 2 tone paint scheme.. gypsy could be more interesting.. but gypsy appeals to a very tiny niche market .. MUL wont ever bother with the specs...

Fresh info from an Astra owner. The guy is on his 2nd car, a Club. He HATES it. The quality is not a patch on the old one, it drinks like a fish, and spares are beginning to be a bother. The first Astra was solid Teutonic build, the 2nd one is all Halol, GJ. The person in question screamed at a GM rep who offered him an Optra test drive, shouting NEVER GM!

Aside: The original Indian Astra was so well engineered, if you put the window on auto shut, and you put your hand/something in the way, it would sense the hand and retract. Tried this on this version, and now I can't type easily.
