Keeping in mind the criterion laid out, my present and future financial conditions (whatever I can foresee), I'll be happy driving a Japanese car.

well, once i drove the german cars, i never loved anything else.

The japanese may be value for money, but they (even the jap luxury vehicles like Lexus) are not as exciting as the german machienes.
The difference is that in German cars you feel as a part of the machiene, and not as someone who controls the machiene. German cars are perfect, from the engine, to the transmission, to the seating.

Would I never buy a japanese cars?
Ofcourse I have to buy a japanese car if my budget is less when shopping for a car. Or if I am out the buy an reasonably priced SUV.

By the way, I have another choice, european cars with german DNA like the skoda. I prefer it more than japanese vehicles.

Listed below my choice
1.German (Mercs, Beemers ...)
2.European (Volvo, Jaguar ...)
3.Japanese

American -> If they come out with something exceptional. I love cadillacs though.
Korean -> absolutely NO

My preference is Toyota, since I believe Japanese (read Toyota) cars in India are overpriced I would settle down for Italian (Fiat) ones.
I am not a great fawn of Honda, Nissan seems fine to me. Liked the post 2004 versions of Altima very much.

Given the constraints, I would have to go for the Jap ones, or maybe the American (Read Ford Icon)

And the F for France!

Love the Japs for their reliability, the Germans for their over-engineering. Am quite chary of the Koreans (read Hyundai), though I've heard that their reliability & after sales service are exemplary.

I currently drive a Jap. Up the wall sometimes.

From my personal experience i can only trust Suzuki (maruthi 800). As i have driven one of these cars for more than 10 yrs, in all terrain and road conditions in south india with minor problems from this vehicle.

Voted for Japanese since that seems best VFM... however if I were to win the lottery it would be German all the way for me...maybe a nice little BMW-M3??
