Not necessarily, they might import initially and slowly indegenize.

Did it have red plates. If so then its not homologated.

The new fabia sedan should be released internationally next year. IMO Skoda will launch the sedan and not the hatch.

There is an interview with Marcal Farreras..Marketin Dir,skoda auto in the Autocar mag this month..pg 29...talks about the fabia launch in india.

Guys, i almost forgot to put it up here...
I spotted the Fabia hatch on the ORR in Bangalore on Saturday evening.
I was near the Innovative Multiplex at Marathalli and saw this car on the road, going over the speed breaker. Too dark, as well as far for me to get any snaps on my cell phone. Color was the same as shazikon posted on this thread, blue. Couldnt get a look at the number plates.

I guess it would be much bigger than the Swift because it is developed on the VW Golf platform (Another extreme on the same platform is the Octy).

Good pics Shaz, you must have caught them doing an endurance/ reliability test. Maybe a long drive from Mumbai to kanyakumari.

On the Skoda UK site, the New Fabia is on sale since May and the Octavia Scout is already launched there.

When will these people launch the Scout in India ?? I hope it comes before the Fabia.

Earlier Skoda used to boast like Hyundai that it would bring all its International models to India within a month of its International launch etc.
