Guys, if you're talking fake registrations , then talk rajasthan i've seen a rolls royce corniche 4 convertible or coupe and a land rover both on LONDON PLATES!! on NH8 goin to rajashthan!!!

I even say this HYG on an maruti...I was shocked. Can someone tell me what HYG standa for???/ saw this at Gurgaon. As far as I know, haryana should stand for HR, as I myself had a HR car once.

HYG stands for a perfectly legal registration number of yesteryears. HR = Haryana & G= Gurgaon, this was the way numbers used to be long back. So if you saw a old maruti with HYG XXXX plates that could be quite in order.

I remember seeing a car (nissan sentra) with true michigan license plates
near HITEC city.

I think the cars with foreign num plates are the ones brought down on CARNET. There was a hummer running around here with dubai plates.

Many a times there are series reserved for government bodies. Like in chennai (IIRC) all public transport busses of the Metropolitan TRansport Corporation are all TN - 01 - N - XXXX irrespective of the years of purchase / mfg
And similarly- I was told - all Governemtn cars are TN - XX - G - XXXX
