New Cars 2008 Lineup - Team-BHP

Ok so guys in market for a car, and nothing quite satifies my thirst. Have a budget of 9 lakhs and now close to 10 Lakhs (final-mental block). Of all cars I considered, I loved Corolla the most, but even the HE variant comes out to be 9.9 Lakhs on road delhi with 3 lakhs finance. Keeping in mind that this is going to be discontinued soon, I find it difficult to convince myself to buy it.... So I created this thread to see what new models are coming to India this year or next year in below 10 lakhs segment. I am also listing a few cars that are up for facelift... Please correct me wherever I am wrong or add to this list:

1) Toyota Corolla: Up for a totaly new car in 2008, probably by August as per my research!

2) NHC ZX: Heard that its due for a complete facelift next year... airbags maybe?

3) Ford Fiesta: Now this one is not confirmed since this is quite a recent launch, but did hear that its due for an upgrade...

4) Fiat Punto: Due for launch with 1.3 Ltr MTD Diesel of Swift at 75 bhp...

5) Fiat Linea: Up for launch next year with HOPEFULLY 90 bhp Swift Deisel with VGT

6) Toyota Vios???

7) Any Mistubishi launches???

8) Renault ???

9) Nissan ???

10) SX4 Deisel???

Anything else I am missing... also are some of these cars confirmed or should not be here? Thanks for your input.

And I cant consider Civic in my current situation as I didnt like its response... And dont feel like stretching much beyond 10 lakhs.. Already at heart attack level.

New Elantra. New Safari (the X2). Maybe new Cedia, or whatever the new Evo is based on.

Very interesting thread. I my self wanted to start similar one. yes I would love to c fiesta +airbags under 9 lacs on road. I guess new elantra would in be 10+ segment. Looking at current offerings best bet seems to be cedia. But I am ready to wait for next 3-4 months. hope to c some action in SX4 segment.

skoda fabia is also due this year end. you can look at either an sx4 diesel or a new honda city zx with more cosmetic changes, perhaps a vtec engine with airbags and abs, and bigger tyres!

Pl consider GM india too.

Aveo diesal and i heard GM is working upon couple of more models to bring in india....

Fiesta Will be going under face lift i am curious to know what changes will be done on fiesta.

Keeping eye on current market share and stiff competition being coming up we can expect price war too in this year end in C segment. Bottom line is we as an end user and customer will be benefitted.

Couple of more entrant in C segment and war is on, SX4, NHC, GM , Fiat, TATA and Ford all has entered in C segment.

Any views folks?

Will Aveo also get the Fiat diesel engine?

Lets not forget the Mahindra Scorpio 2.2 Ltr Crde (Eagle)...

and the Hyundai PA (new Santro)

and the Swift Sedan (to replace the Esteem) - BTW not sure if this one is scheduled for next yr or not.

Spotted the new Fabia a couple of weeks ago on Hosur Road. Must say the car isn't that eye catching. Initially we passed it off as a Spark. It should be out sooner than later I feel.

Eagle engine will be launched this year itself ... and there is another version of the scorpio called VLX (higher than SLX) which will be launched in another couple of months down the lane ...
