in Delhi LX is priced at 7.15 L...just 10k cheaper than Safari LX. I guess the pricing is again poor...why i would i buy a scorpio over Safari for no price advantage?

Mahindra & its dealers loosing more respect in my mind...

First they mess up renault pricing after creating a huge hype.
Second they launch LX which is 10k less than safari
Now, i see regular ads in delhi times touting price as 6.96* (* ex navi-mumbai). Actual price is 7.15 in Delhi so its a case of misleading advt.

the 6.96 is to do with the safari Ad. Reclaim your life, starting at 6.XX. for the lowest entry level 2WD safari. If i am not wrong, its Navi Mumbai for the petrol one.

Scorpio has a far better engine than the Safari Dicor and I am sure that at 7.25 they must be offering the 2.0 L turbo Diesel in the safari, if that is the case I dont think Mahindra is anyway wrong in the pricing.

No ad is for scorpio LX for 6.96 L

ranc - Overall safari is more vfm than even scorpio DX. Now Scorpio LX looks really ugly without cladding, you need to see it yourself to believe me.

Scorpio always had a STD version which was without cladding and you can get the cladding fitted for 13 K. I have both Safari and Scorpio, no doubt Safari has more space inside but the built quality, engine, acceleration, the niggling problems I have faced in Safari makes me favour more towards a Scorpio

At 7.25 they are offering the 3.0 DICOR LX and not the 2 tonner. In terms of metric comparision, the Scorpio may win over the Safari, but in terms of driving fun, space, happiness/pride (and not cost) of ownership, Safari is miles ahead.

What fun are u talking about, scorpio's engine is far more refined and peppy than the unique pushrod common rail engine in safari. In city scorpio is far more easier to drive they are two different vehicles with different sets of attributes so we cant say whats better it depends on one's preferences.

I guess this is turning out to be a Safari V/s Scorpio thread, lets stay away from that because there is a different thread for that and we can voice our views on that. Lets stick to the Scorpio LX here. What I found funny was Scorpio LX at 6.96 Lakhs and Scorpio Pick up (Getaway) for 6.99 lakhs, its the same engine and the same trim level.

I hope they will not have the same teething issues as in old scorpio.

Default New scorpio variants launched, includes cheaper 2.2

Mahindra has launched two new variants of scorpio,VLS and SLE.

Vls is similarly specced as Slx but the new 2.2 litre m hawk engine and ABS as standard.it is priced at 9.15 ex showroom delhi.

Slx has been replaced by sle with reduced features.its available with 2.6 litre crde engine.

Other good change in all the variants is the ac vents have been changed to vertical slots, these vents are lot better than the outgoing design which was useless in directing air properly.

Source: checked the vls variant at bhasin motors, delhi.sle was not available though.

Might be some confusion as VLX was the only Scorpio sold with 2.2 mhawk engine anywhere in the country, now it is joined by VLs.
