CrAzY dRiVeR: Take this with a pinch of salt, but almost all your posts in this thread sound biased and you seem to be irritated with Skoda for no sound reason. Neighbour's envy?

saw two lauras returning from dapdev ghats in kondhwa, going towards MG road. A red and a blue, both looked awesome. Longer than a Swift, they seemed 'cute' yet muscular. Even if priced at around 7lacs, thats 4lacs less than the octavia and makes the car well worth it.
The Fabia shouldnt be seen as a hatchback, how many times do you actually use a boot to the max? One or twice an year, right? For the rest of the year, what counts is the interior and how the car rides/behaves and for this, the Fabia is great.

@bunnypunia,
don't you mean Fabia?

IMHO,
i don't think we should flame this car without seeing it.
Heck the Swift VDi costs around 6L and if Skoda charges around 1-1.5L more for a bigger, better built car with more features i think it's well worth it.
People said the Laura was overpriced but its selling like hot cakes.
I really think we should wait and see.

BTW, we booked our corolla around a month before it was officially launched and we got to see the car around a week before launch too.

Dont take this with a pinch of salt, just a humble reply.

Hmmm. Well, i have no association with Skoda at all. Nothing against it, and nothing towards it. Nor do i support any of its 'competitors'! And my neighbour owns the Civic.

I dont own a Skoda and never have, and looking to upgrade from my wagonR, the Fabia would be a once of the choices, if the car is good.

My first post was about bookings open to customers without giving out engine specs, price and all. Now, if you were to book a car, would you do so without knowing the basic info on the car? Its that simple. If that is biased, i dont know what is not!
One of our members has told that his friend booked the car two years ago, without any idea of how it looked or performed!

Second post was about the SX4, when another member posted that member GeekSrik had booked the SX4 before launch, which is only partially true since he got to see the car before launch, and also the price was out (if my memory isn't fooling me). Thats biased?

Third post was about mistaking the Fabia for a Swift! Now, i dont understand the biasness in that too. Cause IMO, Fabia looks like a grown up Swift. Now, we as members of team-bhp and following the Indian Automobile scene knows the difference between Fabia and Swift. But to the common car buying public, the differences might not be all that noticeable. Except for the Skoda badge on the front.
Have noticed this with the Ford Mondeo. Even though the Mondeo is much bigger than the Ikon, many still miss it with the common ikon.

About the fourth post about Skoda being a premium brand. Its not a premium brand outside India. I specifically mentioned 'outside India' for that reason only.

7 Lakhs for a "medium" hatch? I thought that they wanted to play the numbers game....The Grande Punto would eat the Fabia upon its arrival...
