Volkswagen Passat killer pricing

Today while watching TV (Wheelocity zee tv) i saw that volkswagon
Launching passat with an automatic trassmission Fully loaded for
17 Lacks that is a killer pricing for a perfect car like this which can out run anything sub 25 lacks The car had virtually all the features expected from it and was looking much bigger and better while being compared to laura
if it is to be launched at this prices then laura is not worth even 12 lacks

No offence meant to the present owners though ,it had everything even auto adjusting xenon lamps which move up and down with the road
Transmission has certain features not availble in other auto ,which i could not understand cause not that techie but the anchor was saying it will stop once you press the brakes ,Lol i think all other autos also stop when you press the brakes

The interiors were beautiful , i had seen this car in front of me also ( the one they showed on Tv) near chanakya Puri
its a silver colour and its written on it Kashyap Automobiles and Passat
When i saw this car 6 months back i never ever expected this to be priced
17 lacks infact i was thingking something just below mercedes like 23 lacks when they are selling old skoda octavia disel for 14 lacks which does not even have half the features of this car

I think it will be one serious seller which can take away the number one spot from honda accord , i hope though the company dosnt follow the pracatise of there sister concern and sell cars chep but rob you once you go for service like 1 normal service for 30 K, and secondly if they offer this price you can expect huge discounts on sonata disel also cause its not match at 15 lacks for this cars

Its gonna be hard for VW to sell it for 17 lakhs if its coming in as CBU, unless its a base model with no frills.

Its not coming CBU its is made here CKD date not disclosed yet but even if it 6 months its worth the wait if its a import they cant price it less than 22 -24 range

I think you're right Sahil. But if, somehow, they can launch this car at 17 lakh price range with all the features mentioned, its a sure fire stomper. It'll give serious competition to its class of vehicles. Ill be interested in one right away.

But why would VW bring in competition for the Laura from it's own stable at such a price? That also for a car with more equipment than the Laura if the reports are right.

17 lakh is not realistic.SHould be a mistake.The car price would be around 25 lakhs.In europe a Passat cost 20 000 euros

12 lakhs is more 'realistic'. A passat costs 23000US$ in US.

Even Accord and Camry cost around $20,000 in US. And look at the price here. So passat should cost around 17 lacs . But considering the fact that they are not manufacturing it here, it has to be around 25 lacs. Do you think VW will price it below Camry?

AFAIK, the Passat was always as spacious as the Superb, far better than the Laura.

Anything below 20L is going to be a killer price for the segment. And will push down the Laura to sub-15L levels where it belongs.

It's 31,000$ for the V6 Accord. Almost same price that we have here.

Atleast when $ was 44-46 to a rupee.

The Superb is the based on the chinese version of the previous gen Passat which is streched by some 4 inches. It is longer than the current Passat

Octavia = VW golf old gen base

Laura = VW golf new platform

Isn't the Laura and the Octavia made on the Golf Platform. So then Should it not be compared to the Jetta/Bora from the VW stable instead of the Passat. In this terms i believe VW has priced the Cars in the same ball park as competition

Corolla, Civic and Octy/Laura in one end
and Accord/Camry/Passat/Superb at other end Though the Superb is supposedly one segment Higher

I get it - most of my impression of the Passat has come from the Far-eastern trips.
