The Head lamps and the Bumper treatment from Steeroid's pic seems to be the initial primitive avatar compared to the latest overdrive pic which seems to be more like the final prototype. The 1 lakh tag looks highly improbable looking at how much the Bajaj Auto costs ( abt 1.4 lakh on road i think)

The Car looks very practical, modern and the proportions are Revaish.

Hope they havent compromised on the ICE partwith provisions for mounting speakers on the doors.

Am curious about the interiors and the way they have handled it.


@Sam: How about an economical JBL package for the 1 Lakh car.
Ofcourse they would be optional :-)

We already have come out with this special system for the Tata 1 lac car. A complete car audio system for Rs.1000/-

Yes, I will also go for this car though I am not a first time buyer just because of the killer price and city driving/Parking etc. Give it to wife who can use it for taking/picking kids to/from school. a better and safer bet than 2 wheelers scooter(Activa etc).
Just hope its should be priced 1.25 lac on road.

awwwww... dont be so harsh... This wouldnt need anything more than a 6x9" mounted right at the center of the roof facing down. Amazing soundstage and surround. Of course, a FM tuner will be all that would fit on the dash.

So Rs. 2000(single 6X9) + 250(FM tuner - like the one on mazda people carriers) = Viola, you have a system for Rs 2250 /- only. Take off a few hundreds if you dont want that bill.

Btw, thinking about a CD player + Tape Player + FM, then very simple option. Go to the nearest philips showroom and get yourself one of this. Only 2500 bucks. Dirt cheap bargain, if you ask me. Of course, the car becomes a 3 seater in that case.

Very nice, TATAs design are getting better day by day. This would be worth every penny and would love to see loud mouth dirty Bajaj go bankrupt. This will be a ideal replacement for the autos.

But i wonder if the cost will be maintained at 1lakh in time when inflation seems to be on the rise!! They hiked the TATA Ace by 50K, so i bet TATA being the good business man he is will raise the price just a bit and people will forgive him for it.
