MOST EXCELLENT! The first RWD small car since the Dolphin. I want to race one of these in the upcoming super 1600 class and see if I can win!!!! Thank you, Tata. I love you guys for giving the world a new old Mini. Mr. Ratan Tata, we can talk about you in the same breath as Alec Issigonis.

Back in 1961, when Volkswagen's sole model was just called a Volkswagen, I remember thinking of it as the world's most hideous car.

Similarly, marques like Renault and Citroën are notorious for avant-garde looks. The first reaction is invariably "hideous"! Then slowly it grows on you and you begin to like it.

I'm sure the same would be true of the Tata "Eclaca". Hey, I just gave the new model a name. Tata Motors, are you listening?

The front reminds me of the Ford Th!nk electric car. Some of these are used in my college. Great scoop Steeroid. Thank you. I am sure Tata are going to succeed in their mission to give India, its cheapest 4 wheeler ever. The car has no front grille? Does that mean that the engine sits at the back...?? Just a wild, vague thought! Or maybe it breathe from below the bumper

any assumption on NCAP crash test results!? I know I am too much into this

Are you guys sure its rear-engined? Because it seems that most of the car is covered, the cover could be hiding a grille.

it's nice to see that Tata' 1 Lakh car looks like a proper car. Hope they maintain the schdule for launch cosnidering all that happening in their proposed factory site in Singur(W.B).

Awesome News Steeroid, and this is probably the largest number of posts in a single day on Team-BHP.. I do not remember more posts on any thread during my 3 years of association with T-BHP.

Anyways, there was some coverage on Aaj-Tak channels "Chakke-pe-Chakka" program today at 7:30 am in the morning, along with a small interview of Mr. Ratan Tata. They also showed a pic of the car, which resembled the pics posted by Steeroid and Tushky..

Keep it up folks and Kudo's to Mr. Tata for launching this vehicle.. I'll keep my personal thoughts aside as to why i do not approve of this project, already documented in another thread.. http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...ally-need.html (Tata 1-lakh car ready, but does India really need it ???)

For now, I must applaud the vision and enterprise of Mr. Ratan Tata. There are only so many people in this world, who not only dare to dream, but also convert their dreams into reality..
