Default Waiting period for Swift Petrol in Bangalore

Looks like there is a 2-3 months waiting period for swift petrol as well. My friend was told that it will take at least 2 months for a swift petrol delivery.
What is happening with Maruti

Not worth waiting for so long when you have other options in the market - Aveo UVA, Getz, Spark, Palio etc.

Good for Maruti. Which other company has so many cars in waiting period? Some companies/cars are having waiting period for customers (to turn up)

And those companies would be?

That decision I am afraid is for the buyer to take. Some people are purely smitten by a car so much that they are ready to wait upto 6 months. Just look around and you will find them in plenty on the forum.

Thats standard response. Stamp on their foot and you'll get it in 2 weeks.

One guy in our building bought Uva and fitted alloys with wider tires too good was feeling like if they could have launched with same 1.3 L Diesel as Fiat GP or our Swift, i could have bought immediatly, really spacious n big hatch back.

My friend is concerned a lot about resale value. That is why I asked him to go for swift, otherwise he is ok with any car within 5 lacs.

I also believe that if you pester the dealer, they may give it sooner as Mag said.

Through Dil Se, I was offered (but I didn't buy...) VDi in one month flat. So, i presume, for petrol, it should not be more than 2 weeks. Btw, if he is ok with petrol, Getz 1.3 is the best bet. Swift is worth looking if its with the CRDi.

Petrol is available immediately.
I heard from a top vendor that Maruti is intentionally playing the demand-supply game although they can deliver.
And this has got to do with the Indian public. They don't accept anything as a success unless its got a Long waiting period.
When we went to check out the SX4, I asked the same question to the showroom manager and a newbie sales executive.
Q: When can U give me the car? I'll give the cheque now.
Manager:sorry, we have 2 month waiting period.
sales exec:We've got stock. I'll deliver immediately.

A hogwash. Same reply as above.

Well, not exactly. Besides, extended waiting lists means loss of cars to MUL itself as buyers will look to other manufacturers.

Well, sales exec's play a dirty game of getting the booking done and make you wait and wait and wait. They will come up with all reasons possible to delay the delivery. Besides, its the GM who knows better. How? Read below.

Nitrous and to other members, I have personally sat with the GM Marketing
& Sales of a reputed showroom and seen his computer which had the stats of the cars alloted to them, list of owners the cars were alloted to and the waiting period, transit dates of vehicles yet to arrive from the production plant. I do believe in the saying "Seeing is believing". And there is no hype about this. If anyone wishes, do come along with me. Will show you guys the list too. Nuff said.

So finney when are coming down to Bangalore to meet the GM who would prove to you otherwise?
