They really need to get rid of that Smiley grille, though.

I hope this is not the final or very close to the final design since the highlighted squares need to be made proportionate.

Note from Mod : Pic removed on tushky's request. They will be reposted soon.

Great catch Tushky !!
Like Tata's job on the front. Hope they provide the final model with larger wheels. Large gaps between the tyre and wheel well look ugly.

On second thoughts (after seeing the close-up Tushky has posted), I feel the headlights lack the subtle-ness of that on a Peugeot. Looks a tad over-done. The shape of the head-light glass needs to blend with the over-all contours & lines of the car, & the bonnet in particular.

But pretty good camouflaging, I must say.

I feel the same because in the Indica's case the headlights (almost) reach the windscreen.

Thats probably because of the camouflage on the bodywork. Perhaps it looks good without all those fake panels on the body?

You said it, condor. The vehicle suffers from the subtleness and sophistication we've come to expect from a 2007+ release. Somehow this feels like an Indica-correction rather than a fresh ground-up job.

Maybe this is a job done just for platform testing (though I wonder about that headlight - it looks all tooled up) and the new car looks altogether different.

Nice pics Tushky.

Just noticed the car has one wiper, which is bigger then the normal wipers, so its going to do a job for two?

And the 1.5 engine will get the excise cut, since it must be something like 1493cc or so and anything less then 1.5L qualifies.

P.S Mods how about editing the title of the thread to 1.5L engine instead of Fiat engine.

Everyone here has made good observations. Two more points:

1. If the "NA" indeed stands for normal aspiration, then taking the 50 bhp/litre figure, this vehicle should have....75 bhp. Since the engine might be NA, I only hope and pray TATA have gone for an all aluminium design to save mass. But how likely is that?

2. The single windscreen wiper is another cost cutting idea. But the sweep of the same suggests that there might be considerable unswept area.

PS: CONDOR, I want the new Indica to have lesser ground clearance on stock wheel+tyres than the present day vehicle. I also understand that this is unpopular with large segment of population. In any case, it is too late. The new Hyundai Getz might be more balanced design.
