Default Chevrolet India to support daewoo matiz

Just got this bit of news that Chevrolet india has decided to give service and spare part support to existing daewoo matiz.Just walk into any existing chevrolet outlet and they would do the needful.Spare parts have been taken care of by getting them from korea.

This is fantastic for existing matiz owners like me.It was a shame that the daewoo matiz was left as an orphan by daewoo india.Thank you chevrolet india really appreciate this gesture of yours.

And another piece of news is that spark is to be soon launched in a diesel avatar for about 3 lakhs.

Ps:
News courtesy auto show on star news called top drive or something like that ,sorry for the wrong name

Yes, i read similar news in ACI. GM is getting the parts for existing Daewoo customers, a nice gesture i would say. But most Daewoo's are Matiz since the Cielo's are mostly on fire in the K serials when ever a accident takes place. A mercedes E class suddenly turns into a Cielo and gets on fire.

That's a really nice gesture on GM India's part. It makes business sense too, maybe, but still, nice.

Heartening news. Though so many matiz' have been sold off at rock bottom prices in the recent past.

I dont see why they should. The reason for supporting the Matiz is since its essentially selling the same car, even though 90% is all new. The Cielo is way too outdated, and Im sure spares would be difficult even in Korea. (to import on a large scale that is.) Plus, there are so few of them running around here. Makes no sense.

Actually Cielo and more specifically Nexia share many components from Opel Astra. And many parts of Astra can be directly fitted to Cielo/Nexia.

As for Matiz thats a good news. Thank you Rahul for that bit of information.

i knew it.....one day or the other they wud do it....the spark being 10-20% Matiz, it was'nt difficult for them...and now since they are sourcing Matiz spares from korea itself, its gonna be party time for Matiz owners (me 2)

Not too sure if this is necessarily good news. GM dealers will suck your money big time..

Default Thankyou GM

We have a 2001 Daewoo Matiz which has done 1,20,000km.
The car is still running strong averaging 20+ on highways due to regular oil changes and good quality of fuels used.
It handles better than new Verna.
Though it has some bruises owing to thin bodywork.
It was a pain though to maintain the car so well.
No spareparts, service centres meant it needed some local mechanics who usually are good at reparing Ambassadors and Fiats.
Felt relived after reading this report as we are planning to hold up Matiz for 2 more years.
Is there any official release of this report?

..diesel avatar for about 3 lakhs
Not unless its the 700 cc non-Dicorized block from Tata. That arrangement itself sounds circumspect at best.

Now that piece of news sounds like a definite suspect. 3 lakhs for a diesel eh? Thats probably cheaper than their petrol engined sparks.

Yup, very suspect. If this was doable, the current incumbent for master pricing - Maruti, would have done it long time ago.
