Like V12 said, this is a forum for all cars. *Lets use our judgement to post messages, not wait to be spelt out the rules by the moderators. They're doing an awesome job already.
There are a large number of people on the wall waiting to jump onto the team-bhp bandwagon, lets not scare them away.

though i voted for Skoda, i think it's a close competition. Ok hyundai maynot be the preffered car here but when we speak diesel, we are actually speaking VFM. Nobody buys a diesel for performance.

So on that front, i think the Elantra is a good buy, it's just that the Skoda factor makes it look dull.

Regards...

Anybody has any idea when Skoda is launching their 150bhp turbo petrol version?
I was waiting for that. Skoda Bangalore showroom had no clue about the launch date.
I had no time because it was the last month (March) to avail tax benefit.

Rudra, I have heard that it should happen anytime in the next 6 months. The car may be going for approvals right now

these approvals take awful long. BTW GTO, do you know if Skoda will be offering better trim on the new petrol turbo? I have been pestering the dealers but they are clueless about what trim will be offered.

i figured after corolla raised the standards on trim skoda might do the same.

well Navin,

If you want a higher trim level, you can always go for the Elegance version, or event the L&K. IMO, the L&K looks beautiful from the inside!

i have not seen it but i hear the L&K is nice. 2 dealers i visted (each dealer was visited twice) in prabhadevi and in juhu did not have a L&K on display. Plus the L&K is available on in TDi. Given the milage i drive a TDi does not make sense. BTW any news when Skoda will release the newer engines esp the Turbo Pertol? They seem to be advertising the TDi heavily now.

octavia for me too. Except for the crdi engine there is nothing that the elantra has better than the octavia. And i never trust hyundai's bhp/ps figures. They always lie abt them. Anywaz, for all the tech savy crdi stuff, the engine is still more noisy and crude as compared to the tdi of the skoda.
