Nope...no maruti stuff here...I use a piston which I sourced thru a completely diff source. Its a 66.5mm piston and the bike has a heavily ported and modified head, it uses a 30mm inlet valve, 26mm exhaust valve and a completely diff carb.

I have been using a Wagon-R for the past 18 months and I get an average of 12.5km in the City (I only use it in the city) with AC on all the time.

My Long Timer Indica Lei (2000 model) Petrol gives me 9.5Km in the city and 13.5km in highway runs with AC on all the time.

My father's Indica DLS (2004 model) gives 14km in the city and 16km in the Highway runs with AC on all the time.

I'm buying an Innova this month, going for diesel for the first time in my life. Hoping it works out good.

Wink

On my Esteem MPFI limited 2002 model (Fitted with K&N Repl. Filter)

13 kmpl with a/c (city driving)

15 kmpl with a/c (highway). May be more as i was doing 130kmph constantly on my most recent trip 3 days back.

FE has improved by at least a kmpl or two after the K&N was fixed a week back.

On my Maruti 800 i get between 14 and 16 kmpl in city and between 18 and 21 kmpl in highway. No K&N and with 4 gears. No A/c also.

It is also important to quote the thermo setting of your AC. Probably in terms of percentage. Higher the percentage lower the KMPL and vice versa.

In City with 100% AC and trigger happy revving..... 11.8 kmpl
On highway doing speeds consistantly in 100-140kmph range the avg came out to be 12.5kmpl

But I have been driving like a maniac! :d

Litttle tips on how to get better average on any car. This trick can even beat the company records. This was given my bro who got an Alto.

1.) Get the car serviced at time.

2.) Use only one type of fuel. (Means same company fuel either use HP or BHP)

3.) Perfect Gear Shifts. 10 - 20 (2nd gear) 20 - 30 (3rd gear) 30 - 40 (fourth gear) 40 - 50 (fifth gear). Special Tip for GM car owners. Change gear between 1.3 - 1.5 rpm. GM users dont ever let your engine knock. This can get you in trouble.

4.) Everytime you go to petrol pump get your tyres psi checked. Dont drive with lower psi. Though it doesnt mean that u can drive with higer psi too.

5.) Wash your car atleast after 3 days. It really helps lighten your car weight.

6.) Dont turn off your car on traffic lights unti and unless u have wait for more than 60 secs.

7.) Thank me if this helps you a little bit too.

Bye

hi guys, the unbelievable happened today. my Getz gave more than 15 kmpl!!!!

i own a four month old Getz GLS, which had done 7500 KMs. i have been filling it with HP-Power since beginning.

my method of calculating fe: I always get the tank filled up, until the fuel pump cuts by itself; and at every top-up i reset the trip-meter. next time when i go for a top-up i divide the trip-meter reading by the fuel taken to top-up.

my driving style: i wud call myself a relaxed driver; my car rarely goes above 3K rpm, i don't rev the engine too hard. my daily commute is 56KM; half of which are sparsely congested roads, very less traffic but the other half is a nightmare (sarita vihar to Okhla).

during my last top-up, i didn't use the AC much, mebbe 10% of times (delhi waether is pleasant nowadays). today when i went to gas-station i had an inkling that i will get better fe this time, since the trip-meter was shwoing 503.4 KMs, and the needle was
still above "E" mark. and voila, the tank took only 33.16 lt to fill up, and this results in fe of 15.18 :-)

what do you guys say abt it.

By washing your car regularly, it does'nt become light ,but the Aero dynamics work better because of less friction. Polishing the car regularly will help even further. The difference in mileage will improve very marginally but the improvement is definite.
