| BHPian | This time around, I got better FE than usual. 100% City. 40% AC. Shell Super Unleaded. 411Kms, 39.05 Litres. Came to 10.50 Km/L. Much better than the previous time when I got 8.50 in City (Though a much spirited drive, when I did 110 in Third gear three times) What % increase in FE is because of Shell petrol and how much for sedate driving is yet to be seen. |

| I have a NHC which gives me 13-14 KMPL on city driving.(Office-residence with 100% AC on). On Highways it is in 14 to 16 range. ![]() But I also use my brother Ikon flair (petrol) City it gives abt 14. But on the highways-I am amazed. It is consistently around 20KMPL with AC ON. I wonder how?? Any idea???cheers: |

| BHPian | After moving back to shell after it reduced the fuel prices, from last 3 tank full 1. 100% city 15.46kms/ltr - 400+ kms on tank full. 2. 85% highway + one bad traffic jam stuck in city - 20.5kms/ltr 0% AC, 5Speed 800. Very consistent reading with Shell petrol. |

| Senior - BHPian | i was in pune, had to drive to mumbai. i had ample of time this time so i thought- let me do a max FE test in my scorpio mHawk. departed by 2.00 pm. my scorpio's tank was almost empty, the VAS had given me enough warnings already, reached the outskirts of pune, filled up turbojet diesel and corrected tyre pressures to 32, for max FE. switched off the AC. ideally, i should even close the windows to reduce drag, but that would be stretching it a bit too far! i cruised at 50-70 kmph in 5th gear with feather touch on throttle and minimal application of brakes. once i reached the express highway, i sticked to the middle land, set the cruise control at 80 kmph, put some bass heavy songs, so that i dont doze off and let it happily cruise. i realized how smooth driving this way was. the brakes were seldom applied. unfortunately, i was caught up in mumbai's thick traffic snarls. reached home, the next day filled up the tank again. did some quick calculations and the result was 16.36 kmpl... but i would never want to try this again, it took me 4 hours to reach mumbai! |

| BHPian | Recently I have started getting better FE from my 1.6 Petra. In the past it used to be around 10 KMPL, my recent two fills reveal 10.5 KMPL and 11.2 KMPL. I have started changing the gears a little late and started being light footed in torque band. |

| Chevy Spark has added a Spark this time. Last weekend I drove from Mumbai to Aurangabad (375 Kms) via Kalyan thru Malshej Ghat. Heard of the petrol scarcity across india and the huge rush at petrol pumps in Aurangabad.. first thing I did was to fill up the tank entirely.. and it just gulped in little less than 20 Litres. Thats amazing efficiency of 18.6 Kmpl for my cutie pie SparkAC was on 50% of time. 4 Adults with packed full luggage. While coming back via Pune.. it dropped to 15.7 Kmpl.. but on 80% AC. Otherwise City average with 60% AC on @ 12-13 Kmpl thru Mumbai Traffic. Done 22000+ Kms in 16 Months, super cool performance till date and no ownership hazzles till date! |
