Grande Punto @ 5Lacs, Linea @ 6.5Lacs, Shock Pricing - Page 5 - Team-BHP

In the days of simultaneous worldwide launches, releasing a model 2 years late here defeats purpose.
A year back Punto was a great car, this year its a good car, next year it will be just another car, and fiat itself will have moved on!

If I remember correctly, Punto with these options is already in the market in Europe.

Well pricing is not spot on. If PUNTO starts from 5 lac for 1.2 petrol its way too costly. Plus diesel will surely be around 1 lac costly so we can say its 6 lac ex showroom and around 6.75 lac on road.

Plus Fiat cannot make a mistake with pricing because they are hardly doing any business with their cars at this moment and PUNTO and LINEA can be the turning point if they price it right.

Next summer is "right now", that report is Oct, 2006. I reckon it is already out in the market.

These people need to take a cue from Maruti. Swift and SX4 were launched very soon after their international launches. And both cars are a hit.

ACI if I recollet correctly had predicted that the Logan will cost between 4_ 5.5 lacs> they were off the mark here although we all hope and pray that these are the prices at which Linea and Grande Punto are launched.

Interesting news and even more interesting price. Perhaps at that price range, punto could even eat the palio alive. however i do see that palio might be stopped and punto be the bread and butter model for fiat. of course the linea might be at the mid end, with also alfa romeo and other big wigs on the way.

the punto with the mjd engine, and enough space, better gear shift, boot + 36 months warranty from tata, defogger, perhaps abs + airbag (driver side atleast) could work wonders for the punto here! i seriously request FIAT to have one punto top end with higher bhp, plus safety features for the safety conscious.

if these are in, other cars get ready to be booted and rebooted yet again. the worst among them could be sx4, with those horrid waiting times and costlier tag. the best gainers could be fiat and mahindra.

The price mentioned is competitive. But fiat has already delayed the launch of the punot and Liena. Hope FIAT is able to keep the prices as mentioned. Otherwise it ill be difficult beat Swift & SX4.

hey, guys 5 lacs for grande punto is a good pricing but not very competitiveness when compared to swift. the base model woud cost 5 lacs, so i believe the top model would go upto 6 lacs with all the goodies. so it would be competing with the skoda fabia in terms of its size,space, and now price too. now, the real factors for grande punto's sale would be its features/specs. that what is being offered at what price and pricing off all its variants.

"linea" the real beauty from outside...but again a dissapointment inside. Same dated looks. Just they have come up with orange lights theme. But the over all dash board is very old fashioned.

You will find smaller cars take longer to come since the vendor base needs to be developed for local content in order to keep prices down.

Higher end cars merely need to be homologaed
