Getz & Focus - Any idea when? - Team-BHP

I'm being advised by some to wait till Hyundai and Ford launch the Getz and Focus respectively [I do have atleast another 4-month window before I do sign on any dotted lines.]. Any ideas when the launches are slated for? Hyundai vaguely mentions something about the 3rd quarter of 2004. Any updates, people?

1st again ... Howzaat GTO !!!

Well.... Getz is around the corner for about sept-Oct Launch however Focus will not any time this yr... but may earlier next yr say jan-feb.

The eco times talk about a new car being launched from Ford - will this be the Fusion ?

Still not so sure that Ford will launch the Focus at all. But the Getz will be in your showrooms latest by Diwali.

I am not a *big fan of Hyundai , but of all the auto manufacturers they seem to be one who *offer their latest products in India .
Honda is also doing a good job by launching the *NHC and Accord here.
having said that ,There is talk of Getz for some time but no launch !

Manufacturers should really catch up and offer more new cars in the B and C segments where the customer does not have too much choice except for a bunch of *outdated cars .
There has been talk about Focus, Fabia and even Fiat Panda *for some time but dont see launches happening aggressively

Like most other viewpoints, I doubt if Ford is ready to launch the Focus yet. Yes, maybe the Fusion. A good looking vehicle, except for the AC vents !

Tom,

Internationally, the Getz is offered in petrol 1.1 (Santro), 1.3, 1.5 (Accent) and 1.6 (Accent) engines. The real catwalk will come from the 1.5 CRDi (Accent) engine!

Since the 1.1 and 1.5/1.6 engines are already made in India, I expect the Getz to be launched with these in petrol form. Most certain is the introduction of the CRDi engine...which will be the Getz to buy!

Expect the pricing to be in the range of 4.5 lacs.

I think that the Getz will be launched in a 1.3 liter petrol engine initially.
Thats just a guess....the 1.3 liter will produce close to 78 to 82 horses
The car is above 1000 kgs , so the Santro 1.1 liter engine will be too underpowered for it.

As with regards to the Crdi engine , I have no clue, whether its gonna be the Accent 1.5 Crdi or a new one..
I think , it should be a new one as the Accent Crdi is too expensive for the GETZ to be fitted in.

Guys...any idea about the Honda Civic VTEC?? sounds interesting...any info about the specs of Indian version of Civic Vtec, date of launch etc??

the honda guys tell me that it is gonna be the old honda vtec plant in the new look vtec( and thats not bad either)
..actually even they were not too sure

new VTEC thai version is 110bhp. So expect indian version to make around 10% less at the most. Around 100bhp.
