Black looks the best. If not black then go for maroon.

Black definitely looks best. But I wouldn't advise you to buy it if you can't maintain it properly & believe me maintaining black color IS A PAIN! I've two black cars one of which is new & it hurts everytime you see a scratch on the body & scratches are very easily visible on dark colors more so on black. I'd advise you to go for a lighter shade..say silver or beigish if that's there.

It's gonna be silver. Wonder whether sunfilm is necessary...

Got the car last night. The autocop doesn't have impact sensors (the ones that go off if a cricket ball lands on the locked car).

My Q: Would it be necessary on the Optra. The dealer said that the basic autocop security is good and doors can't be jimmied easily anyway.

Comments...

Congrats.
You don't need an autocop. What you have is good enough.
Some pics please.

Black is Black thats all i got to say... all colors aside black is by far the best color for any car. But u have to be a bit extra carefully with that color, you gotta gain some then u gotta loose some..my accord is black at first i was obessed with it someone keyed it once on the door i went insane i actually planned to get the entire door painted i couldnt stand the look of a scartch on the sparklin black color ccoz it stand out alot! but with time i learnt that u have to learn to be a lil ignorant towards small scratches. If u go for black just remember to get ur car polished every 4 to 6 months atleast this will make the scartchs go to an extent and keep the car and paint shinning.

Unhappy

The manual lists numerous cautions --- restrained speed, acceleration etc etc --- for the first 1000 kms. I knew that on Zen it wasn't so. I want to know how important it is to mollycoddle till the first 1000 kms?

Hopefully I'll be able to get some driving time and pics over the weekend --- haven't been able to so far

Default Which colour Optra should I buy?

Hi All,
I should say this has to be the most informative site for any indian automobile enthusiast. I stumbled upon this forum when I was browsing around for user info for an optra.

I am planning on getting myself an optra base ny ( beige interiors ). But the thing is I am so confused about which colour to go for. I have my eyes on the black and the silver. I think both really look stunning on the optra.

My first reaction is to go for the silver , but I dont want to regret not having choosen the black.

Your opinions could help me.Also is the crystal mica silver in colour???

Thanks in advance

It depends more on which color can you maintain than which color you like If you are going to take good care of car paint (by regular cleaning, waxing, parking away from children/miscreants in safe pace), close your eyes and go for black. Otherwise, silver is the color to go. Scratches look most prominent on black, but nothing beats well maintained black beauty. Checkout some pics of Rudra Sen's Optra.
