Unhappy

Last night I experienced the Koramangala road mess myself when the new Optra got both of it's front wheels into a pothole (of immense proportions). For those who aren't in Bangalore, Koramangala is a prime example of Bangalore roads gone to hell.
As all efforts of me and my friends to extricate was in vain, I decided to get professional help and realized that GM doesn't have a helpline at all (leave alone 24 hour one)

With any Maruti, all it used to take was a call 24\7\365 to 9622962200.

Anyway, what I wanted to know from fellow team-bhpians is whether there are other breakdown service providers etc that are good. And whether they have an annual contract kind of deal which makes sense to go in for.

Share your experiences please...

Delhi used to have a service called RACE. 24 hrs support for Rs.365 PA. And they tended to all car brands.

Do we have something like this in bangalore?

Delhi still has. I am one member. NCR areas along with Chandigarh are also covered in their policy

This idea , what i heard is that it originated from Bangalore, when one surd along with his family was driving late at night. Got stuck with some failures in his car at a lonely stretch and was helpless in calling anyone.
Next morning he thought of this idea and started a car helpline 24/7/365. Dunno how true it is.....

However, 4chakka there must be some car helplines . Did you try calling Maruti ? If they are customer oriented , they
would act. Things like these go a long way in confidence building.

The person may have started this service based on his late night breakdown. But it has existed for years. E.g. America has a service called AAA which for $45 (last I saw) gives you round the year efficient coverage ANYWHERE in the US. You can call them for breakdown service only 3 times a year though in the $45 payment.

Good tip gurdeep! Maybe we can have a sticky on important contact nos?

No damage luckily, except slight marks where the wooden poles were used to lever the car up.

However, the part of the jack like a fish-hook that turns the jack really was a pain. It broke off leaving the jack stranded under the car --- until the wooden poles lifted the car sufficiently to take it out.

I have been spoilt by 3 years of impeccable Maruti service and the initial feeling with GM is that it is a pain in the After-Sales-Service area (short form not intended )

Since you own a Swift, you should call Maruti 24x7
