woah!!!!!
hold on a minute here
safari has an better build and body quality over the scorpio, safari has more interoir space than a scorpio,
its very comfy for the people who sit at the rear due to the vast cabin
it has a more commanding presence over the scorpio
overall expect the enigine and gearbox,i fell safari wins at everything else

But aadix Safari got a really bad report in UK. Costing almsot 15000 pound this car rates below the base. With a star burst saying: Avoid at all costs.

I think those ratings are biased...the safari is not so bad that they say to avoid it at all costs...

The UK journalists are known for this kind of biased reporting on Indian cars atleast, u have checked out the top gear city rover video havent u?

Yes agreed that their standards of quality are much higher than ours....but im sure the indian cars arent so bad in their quality.

The engine and gearbox shudnt be a problem unless u have one of the first safaris manufactured. The later ones didnt have as many problems...only thing tata didnt rebadge it as safari v2 or something...thts y ppl still think the safari hasnt improved one bit.

It greatly depends on what choice you have. At that price point there are other options also and probably they deliver much better value.
Tata has come a long way. I agree. It's only normal for a company like Tata to take that much of time.

Thats more than i can say for other Indian companies like maruti who have done nothing but adapt japanese models to Indian conditions. Tata has built cars from the grounds up (indica platform) which is definately not an easy thing...

lol,
but they havent no?!?! i had two personal safaris till now
one was an 1998 model ,and this my current one, both havent given me an single iota of trouble
how many sierra turbos/sumo turbos/safaris do you know haven stopped working???
why do most of the cms/big ministers use safaris???
(our cm uses 5 bullet proof ones)why cant they buy scoprios??
why would the army use tata sumo turbo 4X4 if they thought the enigne and gearbox was bad???
heck why didnt they just go in for scorpios?

i am not biased here, infact i love the scorpio, but i fell un necessary bashing of a tried, trusted and proven vehicle is going on here

peace man! both are they great vehicles in thier own leagues, let them be

drifter ,

thats a typical indian reation u gave !!

agreed that the quality levels are better than ours, but then if u r going into the international market with a product , it better be good !!

dont tell me tata dint know the level of quality and the competion ??

and again, if tata rover which is a very much improved version fails there , what are we getting here ?? *tata is fleecing us with the indica then or the indians go with sasta hai to chalta hai

QUALITY NEVER COMES CHEAP AND IT IS ALWAYS MADE

cheers
