Oh shucks! Daewoo Trucks, Jaguars, Land Rovers and now FIAT. And now if Tata all of a sudden says that they are intersted thats it! Before this other Tata arms went in for Corus, Tetley and god knows what else. What kind of a cash cow do the world thinks Tatas are?

But wait a minute. What kind of site is this Articlebase? Are there any other supporting news of this sort anywhere? How authentic is this article? :-/

On second thoughts Tatas may actually make a big bang entry into the world scene if they manage to pull off the Jag, LR (LR it was, right?) and Fiat. They will almost cut short their growing up period by at least 20 years if not more. The future looks tantalisingly dangerous I must say.

Puts the amazing possibility of selling some Fiat cars with Tata badge buliding recognition for the Tata brand without being the object of jokes. Reason enough to slowly start the real Tata products (upto world standards by then) to the real markets.

However looks unlikely.

By the way, the whole of Europe is already reeling under the shock of the news that Fiat has offered Tata to team up with them to get the Jag and LR deal in bag!!! Initially the automotive world and the europeans were uncomfortable with the idea of an Indian unknown winning control of the brit marques but with with Fiat also no jumping in they have started sweating.

Holy sh**. I am just thinking how right the heading of the thread I started sometime back was... "Tatas have gone hyperactive". They look set to just shake the whole world out of their stupor.

Mahindra is already making all the right noises in the global markets. Nice feeling to be an Indian, real exciting times ahead I would say.

Considering GM is the biggest manufacturer in the world 2 years back and there was a rumour that they were buying Ferrari, everyone was worried, they didnot want them to ruin it, so if Tata indeed buy Fiat then soon we will have signatures like Every Ferrari is a Tata/Indica

Unbelievable! Though in some corner of my mind, I was concieving of this possibility, I never gave it a serious thought, especially after all the success Fiat has had in Europe of late. If Tata can make it, then it heralds the meteoric growth of Indian companies.

One word for it BS. The rumor was started by some enthusiasts when TATA-Fiat partnership was announced last year and seems our man Deepesh has picked it up now.

I don't believe this web article as buying fiat would be like shelling close to atleast $5bn for TATA.

That's a bit like Infosys buying IBM, possible but unlikely. But funny none the less.

Fiat was on its way back up but that's akin to saying they had again reached the base camp of Mt. Everest after slipping from the peak.
I thought FIAT was doing good these days. And if what the article is saying is true.. then why is TATA going after a sick company?
