185/60 r14 will reduce ur ride ht while 195/60 r14 will increase ur ride ht .both will be by 2-3 mm approx.
205/55r14 (581.0998-OD)WILL HAVE ALMOST SIMILAR OD AS THE STOCK TIRES.
regardng increasing power u can safely go for a K&N .and then go to Automech if they make a free flow for the NHC.
avoid going for the porting as if it is done properly ,will ruin ur engine.
a free flow and a filter is more than enough.
if u from mumbai ,u can also fit a front Strut Brace from Automech.

if u wanna go for 15 inch then ,its written above--185/55r15 or 205/50r15

i was wondering like how do u calculate the od of a car.
it will be helpful to know
the pilot sport from michelin is bloody expensive comaperd to good year.
almost 2000 bucks more per tyre

hey fasbond where are u located ...
i agreewith speedsatya
if the head is not ported properly than ure a goner .
those type of things are for those people whos warranty on engine is over and are planning to sell it off soon
for the k and n i suggest u ask the retailer what is best for your car.
the other thing is also chipping your engine.
as for the brakes, better tyres is one thing the other thing that car be done is wait for the VTEC to come out which should have better brakes and put those discs in them and if it comes with ABS thenm all the better for you ...

I have a friend who is running on 205/55R15 Falken tires with millenium 5 spoke rims, and his car is handling superbly. He also has a free flow muffler on it.

This one in the pic is running on 195 15s and is doing good too. dont see any harm in upgrading from 14 to 15 except fora little bit of reduced cushioning.

Never understood one thing. Why buy a car that's not designed for performance and then try to increase power and performance! Wouldn't it be a better idea to buy performance cars like the Ikon 1.6 or Petra?

Now, isn't this a very interesting observation? For most of the places I have come across till now, Petra is considered to be most comfortable in ride. Folks at BS motoring even say it is next to Merc or Forester in ride quality. Well, there was one of the three, who rated NHC higher than Petra. But Petra was 3 in his ranking while NHC was 2.

Any comments from better informed people?

Hmmm...isnt it unfair to compare FE of 100bhp TORQUE engine v/s 78 bhp one? In general, Petra gives around 9-10 while NHC gives around 14+. If you are concerned about Fuel price, think twice. There is huge 2.5L difference in these two cars. Stats say that it doesnt even break even at 1,00,000 km with Petrol at Rs.42 per litre.

NHC is no match in performance. Again unfair comparison here too. Handling is not supposed to be fort of either two cars.

Though I am somewhat embarassed to admit that I love NHC looks. But Petra is not bad looking either.

i agree with u ...
SURBO sux....
and fasbond
what is the point of getting a FE car and trying to tune it...
the FE will go down with few of the changes anyways ....
better to get the petra and modify it a bit ...
the city will be a bit more FE but the petra is cheaper and more comfy ...
think about it ...seriously .....
