Why are they using the current Indica's bumper at the front considering there are no wheel arches? It's looking quite out of place. Perhaps only a makeshift arrangement.

This car is from the existing Indica platform. The centre mounted dials will only come in the upcoming X1 platform. The two dashboards would be dimensionally different and can't be exchanged.

Looks like the current Indigo will be replaced by the new compact which will be cheaper due to excise break (<4m). The new Indigo will probably much longer.

well this car is sheer ugly...in fact indigo itself is sheer ugly if u look at it.
man...only if tata had not followed up cost cutting and done away with that ugly indica nose and had a new front....this car wud have been a success with elite urban people instead of getting along with cabwallas.
Maybe thats wat Tata folks wanted...to sell cheap cars to cabbis...
I may be hurting sentiments of indigo owners here....sorry for that but its just my 2 cents.
Indigo is a very unrefined and ugly car, but on the brighter side, its practical and econo.
Maybe someday, we'll have car manufacturers hire some good design folks and have new car designs in the market instead of cutting a few edges here and there on an already existing ugly car and selling it off as a new model..

Indigo and Indica are at the end of their life cycles. Its better to get the new one in fast, that doing another big redesign job.

At the moment, they are just trying to push it as much as they can.

Pushing so much ...at whose cost.....poor indian consumers like us??

And we are all so happy getting a NEW indigo that has exactly the same fitments and design, just the dimensions get changed...hilarious!!!

This version looks far better than the normal indigo and falling within the small car norms the car is expected to deliver far better value ,i am sure it will give bad times to logan.

In the same issue i read that indigo is selling better than logan.

I was looking at all the cars over a purchase for a friend. Indigo is not cutting class. It looks odd from rear. (but then which is the beauty in that segment?) Not 100 percent reliable. It had one small crucial thing which others lacked.

It was within our budget!

Everything including cutting edge designs, reliability has a price to pay.

I think Tata should keep polishing the Indica range. The new one can be slotted above.

Possibilities :

Indigo Compact for V Series with excise cut benefit : Killer pricing
Indigo Compact with DiCOR for V Series or New Indigo : Approx same price with the Techno edge

Wonder where the 100BHP 16 valve engine is going. They have not used it anywhere apart from the XL.

Recently I visited TATA showroom, they do not have a single indigo on Display and for TD as well. Sales girl tells, car is available on booking and not in stock. Is stock clearance is going on? She tried to sell Indigo Marina, Indica but not an Indigo.

had it be stock clearance then they would have Indigo for TD/ Display and quick sale, instead of sale on bookings ... seems TATA is gearing up to launch something in the Indigo stable soon, lets wait n watch for the Auto Expo
