The only reason why reva is selling is the 'cheap running cost' mantra.
If that can be achieved through other means, then people will not bother whether it is an electric car or hybrid or whatever.
What I meant to say was that big companies already have alternative fuel plans. And like you said, reva has a clear advantage of being in the market. But one needs to look at what they have achieved in the last 10 years too. The model still remains the same.

Assume reva being the size(+utility) of a Maruti 800 (-10%) and costs 30% more, it will still sell. But 40% maruti 800 and 50% more cost is not a good equation.

I agree with you, Running cost of Reva is just 40paise/km. That is the big advantage of it.

Big companies do have hybrid cars, Like Toyota Prius, Honda Civic(hybrid vesion) and others but they are costly and have not yet reached India. Think Honda is planning to release its Civic hybrid in India soon.

Yeah lets hope for good.

hey u can ask any kind of queries to Reva people. On their site they have query option.

One of the person whom I know, had the same problem, for that Reva people had told that they have installed many plug points in apartments that too in basement for those who stay at high rise apartments.

REVA it self will provide the lengthier cable if needed but at an extra cost.

Guys, Reva doesn't want to sell cars or what?

I registered on the website for a TD for my wife, last week. Monday I get a call & we arrange a time.... the guy stood us up & didn't have courtesy to call us & apologise. Two days later on Wednesday, another lady calls up & fixed a appointment & viola ! they stood us up again.

What a great pre-sales service! I'm so disappointed by their behavior, I don't even want to have a TD now.

Only issue remaining is to convince wifey about an alternative :(

Hi. If you can get past the pre-sales, Reva is a decent car to own. I have had one for 5 years now, and at least no issues with the guys at the service centre. They are prompt and have always responded as scheduled.

Try contacting Mr. Albert at the Revalation Point, Lavelle Road office, for your test drive.

My wife and I find this a very convenient car for running errands and she prefers taking Reva to office as it very convenient to use conidering the traffic and the parking.

Another friend bough a Reva i recently and she is also very happy with the car.

Rishi

Smile Fyi

After my previous post, REVA guys called up & apologised profusely.
We did have a TD & quite happy with the performance except for lot of rattling noises. The guy from Reva had an explanation for every vibration.

I will be going for a REVA for my wife when she starts driving again sometime in the middle of next year.

Hope by that time they will have newer models.

Cheers
