I20 has been launched in the european markets, not in India, the Indian launch is supposed to be nearing, if they dont do well in European market you can see a launch in december itself else it will be in January 09.

i10 is a replacement for Santro which competes with WagonR. Now I dont know if A Star is above Wagon R.

About blind support, I wouldn't support Hyundai at least in this lifetime. Honda is different (but not blind).

Look at the prices as well. i10 1.1 can be competition to Astar but not i10 1.2. Similarly equipped i10 1.2 model is at least Rs. 80k more expensive than Astar.
i10 1.2 is probably a segment of its own. Probably splash would be a challenger to it in that segment.

Now that A-star has come out, the wait is for the i20 finally. I just had a look at A-star at the nearby showroom, it hardly stands a competitor for i10. Its a good city car with great mileage, and the back seats can be used as storage space. (the driver seat of A-star slides all the way back to hit the passenger seat)

Heard that I20 is first going to be released in Europe. Thats really bad, coz people in chennai have to bear with 3 hrs of power cut daily for supplying electricity to these major industries. We give them cheap resources like electricity, water and man power which cost much lesser than the international market, but still we dont get to be served first.

But, I am determined to wait for I20. The Fiat Grande punto is the other car which will hit the Indian market on the first quarter of 2009.

So, Fiat Grande punto vs the Hyundai I 20... two quality cars a worthy competition to wait for.
Both cars look similar and also have a two door option. The G punto has the blue & me, lets see what new gadgets the i20 will come up with.

Hyundai I20 & Fiat Grande Punto

Duh! blindly? drive Verna, SX4 and New Honda city. you will come to know which 2 companies are better.

Again drive A-Star and i10 (1.1 and 1.2 both) and Spark.

now what are you talking about being a sales person? whom do you support?

Car with 3 features?
1. Mileage.
2. Mileage
and last 3. Mileage

Not sure about "Indians getting it first".
The first batch of 2820 i20a have already been exported to Europe (Source: Autocar december issue). Not sure when exactly the launch is in Europe.
