I would prefer the beige one though, as it would be a nice contrast for the exterior, would suit even red if I decided on painting the car so in future.
there were 2 colours for the leather seat covers,Beige for red/blue coloured cars and BURGUNDY for the brown/white cars.

Thanks SuperSelect. Regarding the exterior its without any major scraches. Just waiting for a neat polish job and changing of wheels. Then definately I would post the exterior pics. It will be a feast to the eyes after a good polish job and taking the pics outside the garage.

Guys.

An interesting fact was that that the DX cars which came with the leather upholstry actually had these standard seats under the leather. The leather was a just a set of seat covers that were installed on top of the standard cars uplostry as seen in this picture.

The fawn or beige coloured leather covers as fitted to het red DX didn't really look that good but the deep chocolate brown ones that came on the white DX really looked classy and after a little use they developed those wonderfull looking creases that appear on used leather seats and added to the look.

If you can get covers made in this colour then retain the original covers as in this picture and cover them up with the leather.

See that red 800 plate on the silver car thats what I was speaking off sometime earlier which you didn't think was true. The early 800's all came with the red 800 bit on the grille

I spotted a sky blue coloured one today and it was not in such a bad shape. This car seemed to be in perfectly working condition and not major body work.Saw a bit of corrosion under the front portion of the car.If anybody interested do Pm me for furthur details.

Yes, ajay99 had mentioned the leather upholstery being mere seat covers over the black and white base.

What is strange is that the beige covers came in red cars while the chocolate brown ones had ones in matching rather than contrasting colours!

Is it really necessary that the original 'standard' base should be retained though? My car for instance, may not have them, being done up with cloth upholstery.

Congrats! That is one original standard version you've got there (presuming its a standard version due to the lack of a stereo and other DX features)

She seems to have had a real careful owner, going by the care taken to protect the side-indicators! 'hope you preserve her in the same shape!

Incidentally, I'd come across an SS80 that had met with a nasty frontal accident come for repair at a local garage.

That car has only the original TD rear tail-lamps intact, but in real good shape! If only I had a chance to swap them.....and thus 'wish I lived in Harry Potter's magical world!!

Congratz! That's a very well maintained SS80 You've found Kiran. But i think the seatbelts are retrofitted, because the standard model did not come with them, but even that is made in japan! So no worries. Do post some better daylight pix of the exterior.
