Talking of height.

Baleno: 1390mm
SX4: 1570mm
Santro: 1590mm
WagonR: 1660mm.

SX4 is halfway between baleno and WagonR, and almost same height as Santro!

Wow, that is tall now. Just 3.5 inches lower than a Wagon R (where as the Baleno is 10.6 inches lower).

I feel that Baleno is better looking than SX4.
SX4 looks pretty weird from front. I personally feel that it looks like a fat lady wearing high heels.

Baleno Anytime ..Anyday, though my regular ride is an Alto, I love Baleno ,SX4 is okie dokie but dont know why I am stuck with Baleno and somehow I feel its most under rated car by majority because of its sales I suppose,I maybe wrong. But to me, I think it beats most of them in its segment.

The baleno looked dated since the day of its launch imo. The SX4 is a very futuristic design which is why its not easily accepted by all. But i guess it will grow on everyone much like the NHC.

In the pictures, just look how tall the SX4 is! The sporty character of the Baleno out-weighs all other cosmetic superiorities of the former!

Both cars look good, they're equally unique (if i may say so)
its a matter of preference..
Even though the Baleno isn't much of a looker from the rear, the proportion of the car really nice!

My vote goes for greased lightning! \/ \/

I love the butch look of the SX4 to the plain jane sedan 90's looks of the Baleno.

For its time, Baleno was good. In fact, I liked the shape of the Baleno compared to the OHC.

BTW, the SX4 sedan is now launched in the USA market as a sedan for 2008. [Until now, only the SX4 5-door hatch was available there]. Wish we get the SX4 hatch in India with a 4WD option.

SX4 has got the Looks - It looks excellent from the rear and side. The Huge GC also makes it look very macho.

baleno was a good design but looks dated.

SX4 has very fresh looks.

Had the baleno for a while(alomst 2 years) and now own a sx4, both the cars are good in there own ways, but i will still go with the sx4 over the baleno, i feel the sx4 has more presence compared to the baleno...

Time to change your avatar pic, memo. I think it still shows the Baleno's frontal view.

Thumbs up

Baleno is much more driver oriented with its low slung stance, low seating and good seat of the pants feel. The SX4 is something like a MUV IMO that has been badged as a Sedan. Taut steering and a good engine makes Baleno a winner in my case. One vote for the Baleno.

P.S. Its hotting up now, the Baleno trails only by a single vote. Come on mclaren1885, where are you when needed???

Will do that the day some one puts pics of their baleno with angel eyes...
Well I do Agree with what all of you have to say abt the Baleno, but having had the Sx4 and taking it on track it feels more better than the baleno, Well before anything said I did have a few mods done to the baleno like 15" rims and tyres, suspension setup for track, p&p head, enlarged throtle body, air filter, stage 2 clutch, 4-1 headers and bucket seats with 4 point harness.... its was a good ride but when I took the sx4 only with a custom made mufler and air filter on track it felt more stable and more driver friendly inspite of its high gc and go any attitude, well both cars i drove where on both the short and long loops of th MMST track... As far as I am concerned the sx4 is better built than the baleno. its not looks I go for it the drivability I seen in the rides I have.
