Though I am not a very big fan of the SX4's looks, I must admit, from some angles the car looks really good. IMO, in the mid-size segment today, the Hyundai Verna looks the best. Specially from the front.

that was because your post was about that. the mods know better than to start a thread on a touchy topic.

lol so should i be blamed for this? because i never knew that was a touchy topic?
If yes, then no comments as it don't worth to comment on such kiddish ans. of "yes" on such blames which i never knew.

If no, then you got the ans.

Chillax yaar seems you are still pissed off that topic and i seriously failed to understand why few of the people are being sarcastic, for no good reason and for the past.

Anyways, Cheers!! Having Smirnoff wanna have some akshay? cheers:

No doubt,SX4 is more modern but looks being a subjective issue,i will vote for the lovely baleno.A balack baleno vxi still looks better than a sx4 anyday. Its sleek side profile and sporty front end is more than a match for the sx4 which looks like a cross between a swift and grand vitara(new). As for performance,sx4 is better, but on paper,a baleno can outdrag a sx4 any day.Coming back to the looks, baleno's rear is ofcourse quite bland, but the vxi model with stock spoiler does improve it alot.
My verdict:a black baleno vxi anyday over the frog like sx4.And i will never stop cursing Maruti for replacing the driver's delight(baleno) with a obese looking joke of a sedan(sx4)

If looks are the only criteria, I will be in favor of Baleno. The car simply looks stunning to me. The front end, the A-pillar give it a mini audi look. The car is low slung and still has sufficient ground clearance, it actually looks like this is a car rather than the present generation " tall boys " sedans. I like low slung cars like Civic and Baleno, Lancer that can be driven at speed and the high speed highway journeys are more confidence inspiring.
The only other car with low slung body but sufficient clearance is Lancer.

The SX4 looks like it was designed to work in farms. Moreover, the cab forward design is too cab forward, and that quarter glass in front looks like it was from truck for visibility factor. Although its nicely proportioned, it doesnt look like a good sedan car.

Baleno is one of the best machines. IIRC, the rear of Baleno is also good. Its was based on some German engineer's philosophy that if suddenly the rear end ends in flat manner, its good for aerodynamics. The engineer was Kamm or something like that, I dont remember.

SX4 looks better to me.Muscular wide and tall stance, aggressive front and bulbous rear, nicely designed headlights.Plus those tyres on the ZXi look awesome
Pity it can't compare to the Baleno in handling though.

A 2-year old thread come back to life.

Saw a black SX4 on my way to work today and it looked pretty good. If only the height was reduced a bit to avoid what someone here mentioned as the "car-on-stilts" look.

But the Baleno, inspite of the bland rear, is still a joy to behold. Especially a black car that has been given a good wash & waxed. Reminds me that a wash 'n wax is long overdue for my Black Beauty.

Did somebody say he has a fetish for the baleno's rear . Here's one

Times do change and so does the car. Reality is that the baleno is outta production and the SX-4 is in the market.

Nice, real nice Riju.
To make the bland rear of the Baleno look good is no small task.

Next time you are at Chennai, do let me know. Would like you to do a photo-shoot of my car.
