My choice is always safari. It looks gorgeous and surely well planted on road than the scorpio.

Voted for Safari because it is not crampy and a good handler than Scorpio, Few gizmos not exactly differentiating the old and the new scorpio

I have neither driven Safari nor Scorpio. But to me Safari feels like more Royal and Scorpio is more like a public carrier. So my vote goes to Safari.

56 against 5!!!

The poll results are shocking, to say the least. Knew Safari would lead, but seems Team-bhp'ians have said 'good-bye' to the Scorpio!

1. I think it looks better. It looks more "expensive" and more "upwardly mobile".
To me the Safari looks dated and yesterdays SUV. Even LR changed the shape of the Disco a few years ago. The Safari reminds me of a 90s disco.

2. It has space on inside, while scorpio is a little "cramped".
Yes that is true. The Safari beats the Scorpio in terms of interior space.

5. I see so many scorpio taxi's in my neck of woods. I already own one taxicab, don't want another
I have seen plenty of Safari taxis in Punjab. Even small villages have them, in Bara Pind near Goraya there were several Safari taxis on my last visit. Similalry there were several Safari taxis in Sangrur and loads opposite the bus stop in Patiala (under the flyover). There were similar numbers of Scoprio taxis as well. So I guess the taxi score is dependant on which area of the country you come from.

I think Mahindra will have to have a rethink on pricing as they are not going to sell many Scorpio at the 9L+ price.

I think the scorpio is way over priced. If they bring out a base 2.2 may be it will get my vote. Till then I think the safari is the better VFM of the two. Will have to give a consideration to the FE of the scorpio too when it is known.

I don't remember seeing safari taxi's in Ludhiana. However whenever relatives come over from joo ke, there are ample scorpio and sumo Taxi's waiting to come home.
I am not saying there are no safari Taxi's but then there are merc and Accord Taxi's too.
Scorpio Taxi's are pretty common the the NH1(Delhi-Ludhiana-Beyond) route.

Yup, read this -

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...est-drive.html (Mahindra Scorpio mHawk 2.2 Test Drive)

And Dockap is a die hard Scorpio fan or Safari hater (read it whichever way sounds better)

Thanks Suman! Even the Die-hard or harder fan has given -ve feedback after the TD report. Though he didn't mention the FE.

I guess M&M have tried to axe themselves out of the market.

I dont own any of these vehicles but have been observing them for a while. Voted for Safari as its VFM, I like the scorp looks but beyond this I feel that it needs lot of improvement in cabin space, handling and above all this M&M can't take its customers for a ride with extra cost of 2 Lakhs that will give you frivolous gadgets (which could be added later, if required), there needs to be something substantial other than a detuned engine.

Voted for SAFARI for VFM and the thought they've put into the product.
I'd value USEFUL features like "Electrically Controlled ORVMs" anyday than gimmicks like "Cruise Control" / "Automatic Wipers".

Safari looks could improve if they cut some flab. A 7-seater SUV needn't look like a ship. Look at the overhangs. Learn from Land Rover for those CLEAN design lines.
