Palio D is Euro3 compliant. This is what the fiat sales person told me when I was looking to purchase the Palio. I went for 1.2 NV though. My car is not euro 3 compliant. Since Petra D uses the same engine as palio d, i guess it will also be euro 3 compliant.

euro 3 is going to be in metros and is already being offered, saw a Zen Euro III add couple of days back, wrt bargains yup if dealers land up with piled up stock maybe. then again they might try pushing it to smaller towns where old norms will stay
yup idea maybe worth a try

Well shifting to Euro-III isn't restricted only to engine changes alone. Fuel also plays a factor. We all know that 91 Octane will become standard- post Euro III. So automatically the car ECU mappings will change to suit such fuel.

My Matiz is Euro-III since April 2000, and as far as I remember, they changed the compression ratio, ignition timing and torque curves. This led to a 10-15% improvement in performance as well as fuel efficiency over the outgoing Euro-II models. I expect a minimum of such similar changes in the current lineup of cars as well. The Zen MPFi for instance produces 59 hp and 7.8 kgm of torque. So 1-3 hp increase plus a 0.5-0.8 kgm increase in torque can be anticipated at best. Its a lot actually.

I also expect Honda to finally launch the 88 bhp (or thereabouts) iDSi engine in the City, giving it much wanted power.

the scorpio CRDI shud be out by June.while the E-3 has to be launched before the deadline.
so we can expect some discounts on the existing E2 stocks.
or mabbe the e2 stocks will be for the non metros and the metros will get e3 cars.

it will be interesting to see teh changes in the E3 cars.

if u wanty a scorpio march end /april beg will be the best time to buy it ..
the new scorpio is unlikely to have any discounts and should be priced 20k - 30k more ...
they are also planning minor changes to the cars exterior ... i think
